Appearance was cloudy gold with diminishing creamy white fizzy 1 finger head, no lacing. Aromas are banana, clove, bubblegum, soft grain, and cream. Taste are soft clove, wheat, banana, bubblegum with hints of pear and lemon. Palate was soft fizzy CO2 with light body, then fruity traditional smooth finish. A good American Hefe, summer delight.

Rating #1509 - 16.03.2015 - On tap @Moray’s Lounge (Catamaran Hotel) .Pours a hazy, golden orange colour with a frothy, white head that fades fairly quickly to a foamy ring. Aroma is yeast, banana bread, and a floral whiff. Taste is very much a bready, banana flavour with a spicy/herbal note lingering into a smooth finish. Medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is clean and superb. Excellent.

Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla: Hazy orange tinged yellow. Nose of light soapy wheat and light yeast esters. The flavor has a nice body with creamy marshmallow blended with the esters. Finishes light and nice, good. Why is it that these brewpub hefes are a large amoutn better than their other attempts at some styles?

A very nice suprise, tasted on draft at Strauss Universal city. Much more flavor than I was expecting, nice fruitiness, creamy, nice on the tongue, Good example of an American brewer doing a German style hefe.

Very hazy yellow color with a medium sized white head. The aroma had big notes of banana. Yeasty spice and clove followed underneath. The flavor continued the banana and yeasty clove flavors. Also notes of wheaty lemon on the finish. The finish was dry. Lively mouthfeel with a slight CO2 bite.

Draft at brewpub downtown. Poured cloudy yellow color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate banana clove sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet flavor with a solid sour citrus sweet finish of moderate duration. Good refreshing brew.
