Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla. Clear golden color with thin white head. Light noble hop aroma and flavor nicely balanced with a slgithly sweet cereal grain flavor. Crisp and clean, light body. Not a bad beer.

On tap at the Old Columbia location. Golden yellow with a medium white head. Has a fairly discernable level of hops (18 IBU), but not a burner. Malt content makes this a tasty light lager. Not so pilsner-like to me, but I like it. Way way better than the Endless summer crap they make. This is the refreshing summer beer that you want.

Bottle thanks to Snojerk321. Pours a nice golden color with typical white head. Nose is spicy continental hops, bread, yeast. On taste, full of nice biscuity notes and a clean bitterness that is a touch spicy. Could definitely drink a ton of this in the summertime. Good.

Shaker pint pour in the San Diego airport. Pour is slight haze golden with a small white head. Thick sheets of lacing. Sparkling, looks nice. Aroma of sweet malt, some grassy yeastiness. A bit of dull cardboard and ever so faint diacetyl - not really a negative. Taste is a nice blend of the softened sweetness of the malt, with the straw grassy yeastiness. Palalte is medium thin, more on the heavier side. Finish is pretty heavy, lower carbonation, not really "refreshing". Decent enough.

From the tap poured golden with little head. Nice flavor with a quick finish.

Poured a deep golden color, nose of light spices and malts. Also a very light hop note. A great beer to pound on a warm summer day in San Diego.

So tough to add comments of value when there just aren’t many intriguing things to say about a beer. Light gold color, faint malt aroma, watery bitterness. Avoid.

A clear yellow colored beer, with a white head. The aroma of malt, a little fruits with some hop. The taste of malt, fruits and flat. the aftertaste is watery, a little sweet and some bitter.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2006 Bottled. Pours a pale golden color. Aroma is grainy and acidic. A little malty in flavor. . Slightly bitter finish. Not one of Karl’s best efforts. Drinkable. Tap: Pretty decent, better than bottled.
