On draft at LAX airport. Very light in color, bubbly head, no lacing. Aroma has a slight malty base with a touch of spice. Flavor is a little malty but very bland.

12oz bottle. Clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with some cereal and floral hops. Simple sweet flavor with just a little hop spice. Just enough bitterness to cut the sweetness, but not really noticeable. Light body. A good, easy drinking summer beer.

Tap, LAX. Pours looking like a regular macro lager, with a very light yellow hue and a short-lived white head. Sweet graininess in the aroma and unfortunately in the flavor as well. Husk, sweet corn, and really failing to pick up any real hop presence. Very thin body with bubbly carbonation. Messy and bland.

I was hesitant to buy this thinking it was the same beer as summer gold but after looking it up on the data base it has this beer under a Bohemian Pilsner. Color is a solid gold thats immacuate compared to other beers iv’e seen. Has a small patchy head and aroma is a little faint with traces of grain and straw in it. Flavor is rather bland and dull but then again what BP doesn’t fall under that catefory. Easily consumed in big quaffs so you know this is a brew for a hot day.

pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head, and some lacing. smell is of wheat, citrus, some nuts, a little corn, and some spice in the back. taste is weak, wheat, and lemon, ends a little tangy.

This was a nice pilsner beer with good hopping and a nice flavor. Good initial offering for me from Karl.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear and golden with a moderate white head that diminished rapidly leaving some lacing. Not much aroma, mainly soapy malt with light floral notes. Flavor is better than the aroma by a bit - sweet mellow, light toasty malts with a little citrus, grassiness and a weird herb and biscuit finish. Light body and prickly carbonation. An unoffensive, non-challenging, easy drinking summer cooler, about as good as I expected.

Above average light beer. Clear pale yellow color. Tiny bit of skunk. Lightly hopped. Relatively easy to drink

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2008 Upon visiting the Karl Strauss resturant and brewery in Carlsbad we enjoyed some of their beers. This was an excellent golden pilsner with some hopiness and a crisp finish. You could drink this beer all day. It was not complex but a very drinkable brew. I had another in San Diego at the Redfields bar at the Manchester Hyatt Hotel. It is avery good all around Pils.
