Pours clear straw yellow with a medium sized, fizzy white head that leaves specks of lace. Smells grainy and cereal malty, sweet. Tastes the same. Cereal malty, lightly sweet, hint of honey. Grainy, maybe a touch of green hops. Light/medium body, good carbonation.

A half decent pil. Pours a nice golden colour. Malt presence, and a clean, slightly hoppy finish. Refreshing on the patio.

On tap at Karl Strauss. Clear golden yellow with creamy white head. Malty bready aroma and taste, but not much else going on.

Very impressed with this pilsener. Has to be compared to other pilseners and not heavier beers, but in it’s own class - very good. Medium body and bright taste.

(11/2/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in downtown San Diego. Clear golden color. Aroma of malt, light buttery notes and a bit of bread. Sweetish malty flavor with a bit of bread and a bitter hoppy finish with some grassy, slightly spicy, notes. Medium-bodied. A decent Pils.

I was hesitant to buy this thinking it was the same beer as summer gold but after looking it up on the data base it has this beer under a Bohemian Pilsner. Color is a solid gold thats immacuate compared to other beers iv’e seen. Has a small patchy head and aroma is a little faint with traces of grain and straw in it. Flavor is rather bland and dull but then again what BP doesn’t fall under that catefory. Easily consumed in big quaffs so you know this is a brew for a hot day.

This is a slightly sparkling light golden lager with a small, soft white head that leaves really good lacing. The aroma is a very light breeze of fruity hops. Perhaps a note of tangerine. The medium light body is more than I expected. It is soft and forgiving on the tounge but it retains the zazzle from the carbonation. There is a little citrus and a little noble hop action going on in here. The taste quickly fades and ends up a tad watery. This is a beer your dad would drink.

on tap-pours a white head and yellow color. Aroma is grain. Taste is crisp-hops (saaz?+), some sweetness. OK effervescence.

Shaker pint pour in the San Diego airport. Pour is slight haze golden with a small white head. Thick sheets of lacing. Sparkling, looks nice. Aroma of sweet malt, some grassy yeastiness. A bit of dull cardboard and ever so faint diacetyl - not really a negative. Taste is a nice blend of the softened sweetness of the malt, with the straw grassy yeastiness. Palalte is medium thin, more on the heavier side. Finish is pretty heavy, lower carbonation, not really "refreshing". Decent enough.

Enjoyed a couple of these beers while visiting my friend in San Diego. It had a good barley malt aroma with some herbal and grainy hops. The beer was a slightly dark golden color with a smaller-sized, foamy, off-white head with modest retention. It had a slightly sweet, but predominantly bitter-grainy taste. The beer was slightly thinner, but crisp and lively with a dry finish.
