COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beneath the tides off Mission Beach rests Wreck Alley – a dark and mysterious seascape of forgotten ships. Amidst the rusted wreckage is a marine ecosystem, an artificial reef teeming with life. Our Wreck Alley is as dark as the depths of its namesake, an Imperial Stout of uncharted complexity. Brewed with darkly kilned malts, cocoa nibs, and Ethiopian coffee beans, Wreck Alley boasts rich layers of dark chocolate, toffee, and espresso-like roast. Save a bottle. This one has a stout shelf-life.

22 oz. bottle from Bine and Vine with drsordr. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, black coffee, dry, hints of caramel and dark fruit, I thought it was a bit thin for an imperial stout, more like a bigger dry stout, still a decent beer and worth a try.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours opaque black with thin ecru head. Nose roast, dark fruit, slight minerality. Taste slight fruit, then lots of coffee. Dark fruit comes back in the finish.

#3000 for me. Bottle I split with Kara and her friends. (They were not used to good beer) Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma is of coffee malts and roasted sweet malt with good amount of chocolate as well. Sweet with a long dry bitterness for the taste. Full body with softer carbonation and creamy on the palate. Slight alcohol burn. Fuller flavors as it warms. Overall a fine imperial stout.

Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is chocolate cake, chocolate muffins... maybe some chocolate / cherry liqueur. Taste is the same with some tart dark chocolate / cherry / espresso on the finish. Creamy, chocolately, malty. Solid.

Negro opaco y espuma beis ligera. Aromas de chocolate, vainilla, frutos negros, tostados y licor. Cuerpo denso, inicio dulce avainillado, sabor achocolatado y final de amargor tostado amable.

Bomber into pint, pours black with brown highlights and a medium, frothy beige head, short retention with light lacing. Flavor is licorice, coffee, roasted malt, spices, figs, raisins, chocolate, cocoa, alcohol. Was a bit thin wish it was more full bodied.

As soon as the cap was ripped off the bottle I was assaulted by an aroma of marmite. This is a polarising character and usually a sign of being left on its lees for a bit long, bit is there any other style that could potentially get away with it any better? The flavour is a much easier ride with cocoa, engine oil, licorice. As it happens, it’s remarkably easy to drink, masking its alcohol well. I have a lovely feeling of warmth in my cheeks and a surprising tolerance for the rest of the world. I like that. There’s also a faintly soapy finish as well, which is oddly intriguing.
