COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beneath the tides off Mission Beach rests Wreck Alley – a dark and mysterious seascape of forgotten ships. Amidst the rusted wreckage is a marine ecosystem, an artificial reef teeming with life. Our Wreck Alley is as dark as the depths of its namesake, an Imperial Stout of uncharted complexity. Brewed with darkly kilned malts, cocoa nibs, and Ethiopian coffee beans, Wreck Alley boasts rich layers of dark chocolate, toffee, and espresso-like roast. Save a bottle. This one has a stout shelf-life.

March 23, 2014 - on tap at Karl Strauss Universal. Black pour with some head and lacing. Aroma was chocolate and coffee. Taste was consistent with aroma but also had some toffee. Palate was a bit thin and had more carbonation than I like in imperial stouts.

Dark brown color with a small head that disapears fast. Smell is coffee, caramel and alcohol. Taste is the same, with the alcohol going down at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Small amount of foam from pour. Chocolate aroma but it is weak. Nice full palate, coffee, cocoa, light almond note, some ash in the finish. Pleasantly surprised by this. Aroma is not much to speak of but the taste is solid.

A ring of beige bubbles over a dark brown body. Rich malty, refined sweet aroma with notes of tinned dark fruits. Near full. Chocolate malty flavor. On the sweet side. Faint fruit and some light wooden tones. [Shared botttle at RBNG2014]

Whoa, killer brew. Just shy of perfect, and those imperfections are just niggles. Little bit boozy, but hey, it’s an imp stout... Looks, smells, tastes, fabulous. Faultless finish. Can’t wait to return to the brewpub in San Diego.

Bottle from trade. Pours black with very minimal head. Aroma is light roast coffee, some faint cocoa. Taste is the same although nothing stands out in particular. More of a medium-bodied stout.

From a shared 65cl bottle at RBNG-14. Pours very dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt with lots of chocolate and hints of coffee. Nice and balanced and quite delicious!
