Beneath the tides off Mission Beach rests Wreck Alley – a dark and mysterious seascape of forgotten ships. Amidst the rusted wreckage is a marine ecosystem, an artificial reef teeming with life. Our Wreck Alley is as dark as the depths of its namesake, an Imperial Stout of uncharted complexity. Brewed with darkly kilned malts, cocoa nibs, and Ethiopian coffee beans, Wreck Alley boasts rich layers of dark chocolate, toffee, and espresso-like roast. Save a bottle. This one has a stout shelf-life.

22 FL OZ ($9.99) a good beer and is pretty complex. has a lot of flavors going on and is extremely drinkable at 9.5% ABV. I’ve had better imperial stouts and $10 for a 22floz is pretty over priced.

Glass at La Fine Mousse restaurant, Paris, France. Pitch black colour, with off white head which clings nicely to the glass leaving beautiful lacing. Aromas of chocolate, dark fruits with a hint of coffee. Definitely on the dry side, as the palate confirms. Coffee dominates the taste reminiscent of the astringent touch. Dangerously drinkable. An original take on imperial stouts, which I really like!

Black beer, under a dense, medium, darker cream-coloured head. Roasted/burnt nose; with coffee, coffee drabs, parsley. Roasted/burnt coffee, and maltsweetness. Warming up, more depth, even when the sweetness increases - creating Belgian chocolates hints. Well-bodied, light alcoholwarming, slick. Decent, if once more, quite conventional Imperial stout.
