Copenhagen 11/4 2015. 33 cl bottle from Lidl. Pours amber with nice white head. Unfortunately it disappears fairly fast. Aroma is malty and very sweet. Medium carbonation. Taste is suprisingly bitter and with metallic notes of alcohol. Not a fantastic Easter beer but above average for the Karlens brand.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with rapidly diminshing white head. Malt and a little hops in the aroma. Additional hops in the flavor (without being impressing though). Rather short finish.

Rating #519, bottle from LIDL at easter brew tasting ’11.

Starting with the assumed tasteless ones to make it possible to taste at least anything of them, the first one was Karlens Påskebryg. A brownish yellow beer with almost no head, that is. Aroma is sour malts, spicy hops and metal. I am surprised that the hops are noticeable, and actually that there was any aroma at all. Flavor is sour and sweet as if it was artificially sweetened up with farine or something like that. Caramel, metal, sugar and slightly bitter in the finish. Medium palate. Drinkable, but not a specially good brew, and it has a weird balance. All in all this is not as bad as I frightened, but remember this is some of the cheapest discount brews you can get in Denmark at all

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grain, floral hops. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

330 ml bottle. Clear dark golden body with a small off-white head. Very weak aroma, just a hint of caramel malt. Pretty weak in flavor as well, grain, caramel malt and low bitterness. No fault and really nothing ells that stands out, plain and neutral. Medium body and short aftertaste. Nothing special.
