Pour is clear golden yellow with a thin bright white head...smell is skunky and sweetly grainy...taste is strongly sweet and grainy...almost sugary sweet...lots of fresh bread flavors...

This is a pretty good lager. Itís gold with a fairly big white head that steadily shrinks to a ring and leaves a tiny bit of weak lacing. The aroma is bread, raw grain, hay, pine -a slightly perfumy, nice, basic European lager. The taste is a little drier than expected, first being light herbal and grassy hops then bready with a lioght honey sweetness and finishing with a light herbal bite. It hs a light mineral-water quality, a hint of fizzy apple cider and 7-up, but while not soft and full in feel itís not watery, either. Itís a good, tasty, and drinkable basic beer.

This beer used to have some personality as the brewery was not a part of a giant. It was bitter and tasty, with water that was a true thirst-quencher. Today, it is just a boring mainstream, even if disguised in soccer team colors. If you are in Croatia, and donít mind mainstream, youíd still be better off with Ozujsko.

Pale golden of color with a huge white head. An aroma of malt, hay and fruits. A flavor of malt and weak notes of sweets, almost no hops.

Clear yellow wheat color with a finger-width airy white head that dissipates rather quickly. Corny malt aroma. No strong flavors, very pilsner like. Drinkable but unremarkable.

Deep golden beer with a short lived white head. Light corny aroma. Sweet beer with some caramel, toast, some corn and a bitter citrus in the finish. Not as bad as some continental lagers, but I ask myself why bother to send this beer all the way to the US.

Big shiny white coarse head. Yellow body. Oily malty aroma with grassy notes. Dry grassy malty taste with notes of straw and oil. Some residual sweetness. Very clean and harmonic. Not terribly complex. Subtle. Nice, drinkable. (0.5l bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.)

This is shit. Yes it is most often beer in my country but almost all beers from my country are shit. Yes and most of Germans drink it while here on holidays on the sea and say itís a great beer, but it only proves they are pussies that donít know anything of beer anyway!

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2008 500 ml bottle, "Best Before 25.07.08." From Binnyís of Willowbrook. Iíve actually been to Croatia, back in college in 1978 when it was still part of Yugoslavia. But my interest at the time was in Tokaji wine and Slivovitz. Well: Very pale pour, but in the glass it shows a bit of golden hue. Slightly rocky, short-lived head. Smell, though, is of fusel alcohol from corn adjunct, then a bit of light malt when the nose gets in the glass. Drinks like a typical cheap Eastern Bloc lager. Pale and thin, with adjuncts that would better fit a malt liquor. A bigger swig brings in a little Bohemian hop taste. Not all is lost here, I guess. Just donít see myself lingering over this one.
