It was similar to drink it in a pub. It was great. It is a special kind of beer, it is like a pesener but with a little bit of malt that gives a very nice taste. I guess the other guys that have rated it have tasted it from a bottle... never the same. Don´t think of it as a malty pilsener or a soft ale just enjoy it, in a pub if posible. I love it.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2006 Bottle (labelled Karlsbräu Lager). Sour malt aroma. Light yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet malt flavor with moderate hops finish. Usually German beers called lagers are pretty poor - however being a German pilsener explains why this one is better than other German lagers/export beers. Tricky to pour with this contraption, and gets squirted out at a pedestrian rate: thus I’m in receipt of pint with a massive head. Slightly cloudy yellow below the white. Nice enough Pils, slightly sour, with a standard malt base, and perhaps a hint of wheat. Actually fairly pleasant, and refreshing. rederic (1811), montréal, Quebec, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 5, 2002 Karlsberg is apparently one of the biggest producers of beer in Germany, but compared to the likes of Becks, Holsten and the Munich brewers, Almost no one has heard of them. Id like to say that this was a case of the Germans hiding their best beers from the Export markets but this was just another run of the mill Pils, good head retention and a fresh grassy nose like a Grolsch, malty body with good hop bitterness and a soft chalky finish.
