Not that bad if you know how cheap that one was. Malty with a bit of crispy ion the taste. Refreshing with a bit of cheap aftertaste.

Light golden colour with low steady head and medium body. Nose of hops. Taste of medium bitter hops, bitter orange peel, grass and spruce. Bitter and light metallic finish. Easy to drink and refreshing but it just ain’t something ordinary special or nice.

I went recently to Germany and visited the Aldi supermarket to check out if they also sell only one brand of beer. And yes, they do. Here in the Netherlands they sell Schultenbrau, there they sell the Karlskrone. So I grabbed one bottle of each kind (they sell 3 different sorts) and went peacefully away. This comes into a 500 ml plastic green bottle, with a deposit of 25 cents, and a screw cap. ABV of 4,9% , inredients are water, hops extract, hops, and barley malt. It’s coming from Martens brewery in Belgium, a brewery responsible for many of the cheapest beers, at least in the dutch market. Pours a golden yellow coloured beer, with minimal activity in the glass and wo fingers of white, soapy head with quite good retention. A typical cheap pilsner smell, with some grass, malts and hops. At least it doesn’t smell skunky. Not much of a taste really, but it’s kind enough to leave behind a slighty bitter aftertaste, so that you don’t feel you just had a sip of water. Watery body and medium to high carbonation. I didn’t expect much, not when the price is so close to the deposit cost of the bottle, so I wasn’t disappointed to tell the truth. Its purpose of being affordable and thirst quenching, it serves wel though.

Clear golden colour with small white head. Malty and grassy aroma. Grassy flavour. Some bitterness. Bit watery.

50. cl plastic bottle @ B&B in Nijmegen. Pale yellow with a white head. Stale grainy nose. Grainy taste just like every other cheap pils. forgettable

The head is medium, the body light. The taste is sour, hoppy, cheap. 7/6/7/6/6/7

Can 50 cl @Aldi, a clear pale yellow beer with medium head and thin structure. Nose is slightly grassy. Aroma is medium sweet with dry malt and paper notes, very basic and livid beer. Bon circulez y a rien à voir.

(bottle) pours a clear yellow colour with a frothy white head. aroma of straw, powdered sugar and light floral hops, with a hint of caramel. flavour is excessively sweet and vegetal, with an astringent bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottled. A light golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of matl, grain, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and straw, as well as lighter notes of grain.
