2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
can. aldi magalluf, mallorca, lower alc% than the negra, and new design aligned with the rest of the series. Dark brown to dark amber, large light brown head. Bready and caramelly aroma, rye, this is not a schwarzbier as i had guessed, it is a czech style dark beer. At least that’s what the aroma implies. Flavor is nutty, roasted malty, almost citrussy from the hard roast, in fact the flavor is perhaps slightly to the schwarzbier end of things, compared to the czech dark beers. Anyway. bitterness is very low, but there is a little bit of industrial hoppy bitterness towards the end. fairly tasty.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Murcian import courtesy of big JW. This one wriggled from the carrier bag and bounced across the carpark tarmac, but barely hissed when I pulled the ringpull. Almost pitch with ruby edges and a tan halo. Sweet bready aroma spread thinly with Marmite. Treacley malt extract sweetness, metal, faint burnt toast, watery gravy granule beefiness, too much caramel, a gnaw of cardboard. Overly sweet and typically Iberian take on a dark lager.
