3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours slightly hazy amber with thick foam head. Not much of aroma here. The taste is strong from münchener malt, with some background bitterness. In my book, this is a dunkel. An okey one.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle 330ml (BdxL).
Clear copper color, small off-white head. Aroma is quite rye bready with red currant berryish notes. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Berryish flavor, fruity, kind of artifical. German märzen in Belgian clothes.

(Bottle) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with frothy beige head. Malty nose with rye bread, apricots, orange peel, caramel and honey. Malty taste with notes of caramel, rye bread, orange, apricots, honey and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well made and quite tasty. Enjoyable.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl, Kalea 12 Bierspezialitäten box. The label with the two airbrushed "Name of the Rose as written by Rosamunde Pilcher" monks is a harbinger of the underwhelming tradition to come. Has this been in production before Belgian Bosteels’ tripel Karmeliet, or aiming to benefit from the "abbey style" craft prestige? Main difference with its BE-namesake: quality Hallertau and aromatic toffee malts ingredients mixed into an underwhelming bottom-fermented "abbey Dunkles" cocktail: notes of berry, spice, caramel are present, but unharmoniously integrated by this lazy yeast profile. Interesting BE vs DE testcase, one for a comparative seminar.

Flasche 33cl. Kupferrotes Bier mit guter Schaumkrone. Der Geschmack geht insgesamt in Richtung Wein, etwas säuerlich wegen Melanoidinmalz? Ganz gut gelungen.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at Ungstrup’s. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Faint aroma of malt and dried fruit. Sweetish, malty and slightly caramellish flavour. Low carbonation. Dry, slightly cardboardlike aftertaste. Nothing really special but definitely drinkable.
