1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
courtesy of Antonio Rey - very dark ruby-brown beer with a little foam left; aroma of mocha ice cream and caramel; a fair artificial sweetness; thin-bodied, fizzy; tons of residual sweetness, notes of coca and caramel in the finish - weird

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
40 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ the Groshland supermarket, Utrecht. Clear brown with a beige head. Caramel aroma with sugared coffee. Taste is likewise, cold heavily sweetened carbonated coffee. Not that bad if not for the sweetness. More of a soda than a beer but not a bad soda.

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 2/20
Black with small greyish-beige head. Smells like chocolate icecream. Aroma of cola, icecream, butter, sweet late machiato. Light bodied, thin feel and prickly carbonation. Not terrible, but doesn’t work as ’beer’ for me.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Aroma: toffee, cream fudge, coffee with milk. I don’t feel any dark malt here. Black colour, hard to get an head when pouring. Medium to heavy sweetness, very slight bitterness. Light body, very watery, soft carbonation. Does not taste like a beer at all, but it’s an acceptable non-alcoholic drink.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Head reduced to rim in secs; very dark, ruby-shot brown beer. Pure nose of Haagse Hopjes - 100%. Caramel, with a hint of mocha, and predicting sweetness². Sweet, as cola loaded with tablespoonfulls of molasses, caramel and hint of, again, H.H. "Sweet" doesn’t come near. Cloying, false body, spritzy. Poor women... I know a couple in the Low Countries who might just love this... to death.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle @ WWT III. Clear brown colour, off-white head. Nose is massive fudge, toffee, caramel ’Haagse hopjes’. Flavour is liquid fudge, caramel, coffee. Sickly sweet. Not really a beer product.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle at WWT III. Pours clear brown with a small tanned hed. Aroma has loads of fudge, sweetness, not really any coffee noticeable. Taste is sweet with again loads of fudge. Thin bodied. Not that bad actually, but it has nothing to do with beer.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
40cl Bottle at WWT III. Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of Haagse Hopjes, caramel, butter. Flavour is very sweet, haagse hopjes, caramel/toffee, butter, coffee, a hint of beer in the finish. Watery, light-bodied. Nice as an alcohol-free Kahlua or a soda, beer-wise this is an abomination. But I have to admit, I like the taste of it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at WWT3. Poured a dark reddish brown with a super thin white head. The aroma is huge toffee and caramel leading to a sweet caramel toffee coffee flavour. Nice to taste but would soon become a little sickly.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle @ WWT3. Hazy brown pour. Aroma is very creamy coffee with artificial chocolate. Sweet and horrible brew.
