4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Solid bold brown ale. Strong brown malt flavor, owing to the higher ABV more likely. Quite chewy for this style. Perhaps a touch of alcohol heat.

Is this from last year, by looking at the date? I dunno, but Iím liking this so far; Into a mug. The appearance has a hazy dark brown colored body with a one finger white foamy head that dies at a nice pace leaving some nice foamy lacing in its wake, spiderwebs slightly after a good minute. The smell is nutty and malty with some nice added chocolate to add a slight sweetness, do I smell root beer? I think so, but I like it. The taste is mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors, nutty aftertaste, sticky yet dry nutty finish. On the palate, its on the medium side, sessionable - hmmm... not as much as some American Brown Ales can, but given the ABV level I can see why this isnít - no worries. Overall, its about time, Kassikís - good job, not sure if this is aged as Iím still trying to understand what the date means on these 22 oz-ers, but Iím liking this for the most part, Kassikís best one so far, perhaps. I say you hit one out of the park with this one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle. Aroma of biscuit dough, toast, walnuts and some coffee. Flavor is rich, biscuity/toasty malt with a light hop character for balance and no alcohol taste. Medium body with mild carbonation and a smooth, silky mouth feel. This is a great Imperial Brown, it really drinks just like a 5-6% beer. Lots of rich malt and not overly sweet.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rich, super muddied brown coloured body with a nice deep brown colour and a thinnish, single centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of alcohol, pit fruits, earth, mushrooms, grain, yeast and of course a lot of nuts. Medium-bodied; Rich hop flavour at first with some grassy notes coming out, then showing a lot of caramel and sugars coupled with toffee and the ever-present earthiness. Aftertaste is all nuts and caramelised sugars with a rich pit fruit finish - nice and robust. Overall, a very nice brown with tons of flavour and a good alcohol presence, but somewhat muted which works nicely. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska on 04-October-2014 for US$8,00 sampled at home in Washington after celebrating running a marathon earlier today in Maryland on 29-November-2014.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black red, aromas of vanilla and caramel, flavors of vanilla, caramel, and cider. Hops are light, but the balance is good, not too sweet. This is one of my favorites for ice cream floats.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Terry Stovall for bringing this back from Anchorage. Clear dark brown with a long-lasting light brown head, lace that sinks back into the drink. Taste is bold toasted caramel malt with a bit of chocolate and vanilla. It flows smoothly to a slightly bitter finish (all that is needed). The alcohol is well-hidden, which makes it dangerously good. Recommended.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Pours an opaque dark brown with a dense and creamy tan head that falls away, leaving a thin rim and plenty of lace. Mild brown bread nose, even when warming up. A bit of molasses in the background. Creamy, silky medium body with soft carb. Brown bread, bread crusts, a bit of molasses on the mid palate with a mild bready finish. Very approachable, very finishable. Just not a hell of a lot happening for 8.5%.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Forgot where I got bottle. Poured at a good temperature, with a fizzy, tan head that immediately settle to a small island and no lace. Color is a clear mahogany. Aroma is malt and fruit, a bit of molasses. Flavorís like nose; malt/fruit sweetness stands out, backed by a slightly sharp carbonic tang and finished with a bit of roast. Body is ok, but carbonation is a tad coarse. Finish again, has just about the only hint of being true to Nut Brown, does have some alcohol warmth and is of average length. Ok beer.
