Bottle: Deep ruby hued amber, moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing. Sweet and sweaty biscuity nose, some sugary fig/date like presense as well. Strong sweet biscuity start, a touch caramel/toffee, with candied fig/dates. No real peat, smoke, or campfire. Very malty, sweet, and biscuity. Needs more body and something to counteract the strong sweetness. I will say if this is 8.5%, its well hidden. Needs more traditional stuff, smoke, peat, charred wood, and campfire. Can be difficult to finish a bomber by onces self.

Amber, clear, off white head. Aroma of sweet grainy malt, some caramel, a little buttery note. Flavor is crystal malt sweet with some grainy dryness in finish, and again a buttery note. A little on the light side for a wee heavy.

22 oz bottle. Clear amber with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel, bread dough and light smoke. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, more bread dough and a slight acidic smoke. Medium body with average to mild carbonation and an oily, coating mouth feel. This is a nice Scotch ale, alcohol is fairly well hidden and it’s got good drinkability.
