COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A delicious nut brown ale with wonderful malt flavors. Good balance of chocolate, caramel sweetness and a modest nutty flavor up front. Some dark toast and slight hop profile in the background.

Medium brown, a little nutty aroma. Moderate nutty character, but with a fairly full body. Off-dry finish. Decent brown. The brewery generally makes good malty styles, but this is maybe the least inspirational of the ones I’ve had.

Reviewed from notes. She pours brown and leaves the same colored body with a one finger white foamy head, leaves a nice speckled lacing that spiderwebs appropriately for an American Brown Ale. The smell is roasty and toasty, nutty, malty, bready, slight caramel. The taste is nutty sweet and the caramel comes back to add into the flavoring, nutty aftertaste, watery finish. On the palate, she sits about a medium, and comes across fairly sessionable - perhaps, carbonation seems a bit subdued for the style and seems fairly good to me, nothing bad but nothing spectacular. Overall, I say this is a good American Brown Ale, though perhaps closer to an English Brown Ale, no worries (seems its semantics these days), I’d still have this again, and you know what: Browns are absolutely awesome to have this time of year, I’ve actually waited to have this until now.

650ml bottle pours brown in color with a small off-white head that leaves only a few specks of lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and chocolate with some mild citrus. Taste is a chocolate and caramel malty sweetness with a mild citrus hop bitterness and some toasty notes. Light to medium bodied with mild carbonation. Ordinary brown ale at best, nothing special.

Bottle:   Pale brown with a big ruby hue, moderate frothy tannish head, little lacing.   Nutty aroma, slightly bready.   Smidgen of powdered chocolate or cocoa.   Much more nutty on the tongue.   Otherwise a little mealy, certainly malty, pale breadiness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, albeit it seems smooth for not being very heavy.   Finishes with toasted malts, a bit of nuttiness, moderate sweetness.   Nothing out of the ordinary, but decent.

22. Pours a very dark brown, nearly opaque, with a dense and creamy tan head. Mild caramel nose. Creamy medium body, flabby carb. Toast and brown bread mid palate, mild tangy finish. Take out that metallic tang at the end and replace it with a little more malt complexity and this could be pretty good.

Bottle: Poured a brown with a tan color thin head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Taste is a sweet nutmeg, caramelized malt, and overall sweet spice. Overall this is very simple brown ale, but also very drinkable which I have missed recently.

Bottle ports dark brown with medium creamy head. Aroma is carmel malt and brown sugar, flavor the same. Nothing bold, but nothing offensive either. Perty good.

22oz bottle from my Alaskan source, thanks Tasha! Pours a clear, brown-amber colored body with an inch thick, frothy, light brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is light nutty caramels with some fruity esters, chocolate, and a light earth. Flavor is similar. Lots of nuts with a slightly toasty caramel and a decent chocolate backing. Light roast comes out towards the end with a light earthy hopping as this finishes dry and slightly nutty sweet with a light bitterness. Medium length aftertaste following a moderately lively carbonation. Overall, a decent nut brown ale. Nice nuttiness with some caramel, chocolate, and earth. Not bad.
