Poofy caramel head. Red-peach amber body. Passionfruity nose with some tangerine hop notes. Fruity, tropical hop notes across a sea of medium malts.

22oz bottle picked up at La Bodega
Appearance: Clear cooper with a big off-white head and good lacing

Ok, but wouldn’t give me morning wood.

650ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is citrus and pine with some caramel notes. Taste is a bold citrus and piney hop bitterness with an underlying caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with nice carbonation leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate. A good IPA that is worth checking out.

SHIG (3604) - Wasilla, Alaska, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle: Poured a brown with orange edges, head is a creamy foam of off white or light beige. Aroma is light hops but more sweet caramel malts. Taste is a veggie full malty with light hops. Not sure this should be in an IPA style, its good just not hops forward or overly present.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, caramel, and hints of pear. Flavor is strong pine hops, caramel, earthiness, and slight metallic notes. On the palate the beer is medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp, ending with some dryness.

IslandHaole (1091) - Yokosuka-Shi, Kanagawa-Ken, JAPAN - OCT 6, 2012
Another of the treasures of the north I found on my recent Alaska trip. Dark copper with a foamy light beige head. Mildly sweet cereal malts, mineral salts (a bit too salty IMO to really enjoy), some bitterness at the end. A bit thin.

5000 (6298) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 1, 2012
Bottle:   Dirty amber, darker, large finely bubbled head, nice lacing.   Musty hop aroma, a little dank.   Smells english.   Slight earthy/soily notes, perhaps a little grainy.   Muted hops up front, soft mealy/grainy malt background.   Pretty mediocre, but not bad.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean finish, musty, perhaps a little bigger than your standard English IPA, but still middle of the road.
