2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate brown head on it. Nose is extremely smokey to the point of almost meat like. Taste is very roasty with a huge amount of smoke to it. Too smokey to work well as a drinkable beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black as night with a fat head of mocha colored foam to top it. Falls slowly enough and never really leaves completely. Leaves sheeting wet lace. The nose is lovely. A seet bacon, and a bit of char. Some some rich malt and caramel sweetness. A nice bit of dark fruit and a the scent of smoke and burnt wood. There’s a peat like earthiness on the nose and a faint bit of dark chocolate. Taste is lovely and balanced very well. The meaty qualities never run amok. There is a rich coffee flavor from the roast malt that I think is perfect along the soft smoky qualities. The faint bit of chocolate accents the coffee perfectly. The dark fruit adds a beautiful depth to the flavors. The peat like earth and a lovely hop bitterness finish this beer with a lick of alcohol dryness and a touch of warmth. A soft and gentle mouthfeel that is creamy and full.
Perfectly balanced. Delightful.
Thank you Adam.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance has a jet black colored body with a slim half finger white foamy head that dies drastically leaving no lacing in its wake.
The smell has a deep dark smokiness that endures and powers entirely through the entire beer. Wow, I never thought any Double Stout could smell so smokey, anyways, as it warms, there’s some meatiness coming out kinda like a "rauchbier" but not too far in that direction and some light cocoa graces the edges of it to assist in balancing it out.
The taste is once again the prevailing smokiness that adds a nice roasty edge to it with the meatiness coming out again through some earthiness; earthy yet malty and also a slight element of the meat coming back to its aftertaste; dry meaty finish.
The palate sits about a medium on the mouth and tongue; not really sessionable. Carbonation seems fairly smooth nothing harsh.
Overall, this is by Kassik’s! Wow, hey, I’d say this is probably their most complex brew I’ve had by them to date. Wow, and for the price, I will look into a couple more of these to send to my friends. I would have this again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the 650 ml. bottle. This was a gift. It is a handsome looking dark brown to near black pour. The aroma is of dark malts, dark fruit sort of like cherry or even raisin and perhaps black licorice. The smoke is muted but I do pick some up. The body is medium to bold with a greasiness. The taste also has the dark malts and fruit character and the alcohol is a bit more noticeable in the taste than in the nose.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a solid black with a good sized but short lived tan head that quickly becomes a small cap on top. Aroma’s of smoked wood or meat with a solid base of roast and caramel and hints of dark fruit. The flavor is a rich caramel and brown sugary roasted coffee malt base with bits of chocolate, fruit, and campfire wood. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a creamy velvety mouthfeel. This is a very nice beer, and it hides the abv fantastically! The smoke is subtle and adds a layer of complexity rather than overpowers like some other smoked stouts I’ve had.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black with robust creamy khaki head. Intense aroma of smoke, molasses, and black licorice. Big chewy mouthfeel with a warm alcohol mouthfeel and finish. Coating mouthfeel with a lingering smokey and dry cocoa bitter finish that stops just short of too much. Big arse beer that I wish I was drinking in the snow.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours dark as an Alaskan winter with an inch of light brown foam and bubbles. Aroma is dominated by charred malt, smoked meat and burnt chocolate. The taste is naturally burnt and smoky upfront with an emphasis on beef jerky, roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate with a bit of molasses and licorice toward the end. Moderately thick and creamy body with medium carbonation and a dry, charred finish. Overall, a unique blend of RIS and smoked beer flavors.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at Ryan’s. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of lightly charred whiskey barrels. Flavors of smoke, oak and some chocolate and coffee. Viscous mouthfeel. Nice.
