3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a solid black with a good sized but short lived tan head that quickly becomes a small cap on top. Aroma’s of smoked wood or meat with a solid base of roast and caramel and hints of dark fruit. The flavor is a rich caramel and brown sugary roasted coffee malt base with bits of chocolate, fruit, and campfire wood. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation and a creamy velvety mouthfeel. This is a very nice beer, and it hides the abv fantastically! The smoke is subtle and adds a layer of complexity rather than overpowers like some other smoked stouts I’ve had.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pitch black with robust creamy khaki head. Intense aroma of smoke, molasses, and black licorice. Big chewy mouthfeel with a warm alcohol mouthfeel and finish. Coating mouthfeel with a lingering smokey and dry cocoa bitter finish that stops just short of too much. Big arse beer that I wish I was drinking in the snow.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours dark as an Alaskan winter with an inch of light brown foam and bubbles. Aroma is dominated by charred malt, smoked meat and burnt chocolate. The taste is naturally burnt and smoky upfront with an emphasis on beef jerky, roasted malt and bittersweet chocolate with a bit of molasses and licorice toward the end. Moderately thick and creamy body with medium carbonation and a dry, charred finish. Overall, a unique blend of RIS and smoked beer flavors.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle:   Black, deep cola highlights, large frothy tannish head, decent lacing.   Huge smokey nose, some smoked meat, but mainly charred wood, campfire, and plain ole smoke.   Perhaps a slight aspect of roasted, or
burnt malts.   Moderately burnt malts on the tongue, light sweetness, a little meaty (yeah, like smoked meat), with some charred wood, campfire, and ash bringing up the backside.   Yeah, this one is smoked!   Body and
mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes smokey, dark chocolate, ash, campfire, charred wood, and sweet smoked meat.   Not as robust as say Alaskan Smoked Porter, but its a good start.   Smokey without being overly burnt.
Good, just wished it had a little bit more body, or was more chewy.   Hopefully overtime this one develops into another great Alaska born smoked beer.   Definitely worth a try!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bomber. Pours inky black with a long-sustaining tan head; leaves some drippy lace. Aroma consists of smoked meats, tobacco, bread, anise, chocolate. Taste is sweet and smoky, finishing bitter. Smoke isn’t extreme, just noticeable. Carbonation fairly soft, body full. Really tasty and a huge improvement over the last two smoked beers I’ve had recently.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22. Well, it’s no ASP, but it’s a pretty badass smoked black beer in its own right. Pours buh-lack with a dense and creamy burnt tan head. Lots of stringy sedimentary rings of lace. Big smoky campfire nose, salty, showing beef jerky. Pretty intensely dark. Some soy sauce. Creamy thick body with decent carb. Salty beef jerky and campfire mid palate. Long smoky worcestershire finish. Digging this. Worth another bottle.
