Belgian pale ale.
Kasteel Hoppy is a blond ale of high fermentation, with a bitterness of 45 EBU. Strictly selected, Belgian hops are essential for the hoppy, spicy aroma, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

750ml brown bottle with cork. Bright yellow colour, very full white head. Good thick glass coating lacing. Nose has lemon and grass, trace yeasty. Yaste has dryish malt with grass and lemon hops. Lemon and grassy aftertaste, pretty dry, bitterness is modest. Light in body with medium carbonation. A decent Belgian pale ale, refreshing.

Not quite as hoppy as the name indicates. Pretty basic blond, with extra hops added. Not much body. Refreshing beer. Not bad, but not likely to become one of my favourites

Kortom heel erg matig.

750ml caged and corked bottle pours a slightly hazy golden color with a generous white head that settles down to some spotty lacing. Aroma is a little spicy with some light fruit. Taste is a light spicy hop bitterness with a light fruity and malty sweetness. Light bodied with decent carbonation. Quite hoppy for a Belgian style ale, but not hoppy compared to American pale ales. A fairly well balanced ale, that is a little thin in body. Just OK, nothing special.

Bottled Clear, pale golden with a white head. Grassy, peppery medicine-aroma. Metallic flavour with wet grass. Medium bitterness.

Teleurstellend bier. Er zijn betere kasteelbieren.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of November 2015 and poured into a Duvel tulip glass. The beer poured a clear golden colour with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly leaving a very thin soapy layer and some spotty lacing. Aromas start with caramel malt and fruity orange, lemon before turning grassy, pine and a metallic iron finish. Tastewise, metallic iron overpowers everything else. Other than that though, there is some light caramel malt sweetness at the beginning and then lots of floral and herbal bitterness that lasts long into the aftertaste. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. But… Ughhh, I like hops. But this…??? It started off all well and good with a nice pour. It actually looked tasty. But then it all went downhill with the aroma first and then even further with the taste. I just really did not enjoy the taste at all. This one was not for me. I don’t even want to categorise this under Belgian Pale Ale…

Yellow colour, white head, aroma of belgium yeast, candy sugar, grains and grass. Taste is light sweet. Light body, thin texture, average carbonation. It has alcohol flavour.

Pachnie chmielnie, aromatycznie. Smak dobry lekko slodowy ale o przewadze chmielu i goryczki. Belgijski chmiel wyczuwalny mocno. Na koncu smak biszkoptow.
