COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian pale ale.
Kasteel Hoppy is a blond ale of high fermentation, with a bitterness of 45 EBU. Strictly selected, Belgian hops are essential for the hoppy, spicy aroma, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Gedronken in Oud Brabant, pils kleur en helemaal helder, pluspunten, ik had hem hoppig verwacht maar helaas. Nie vies maar ook nie lekker

Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours cloudy straw yellow with a big frothy head - beautiful. The aroma features citrus fruitiness, grapefruit and apple - also some grainy maltiness in the background. Similar to saisons. Taste is light sweet initially, later becoming more bitter and sour. Hoppiness stays moderate despite the name; pale maltiness supports hops neatly. Flavours of grass, grain, herbs and lemon. Not much spiciness. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, low to average in carbonation. Fairly malty in retrospect for an ale this pale.

Bottle. It pours clear golden with a bubbly white head. Weak fruity hoppy aroma with light malts and yeast. The flavor is bitter hoppy and fruity with yeasty notes.

33cl bottle. Poured golden color with a thick white head. Quite a malty Belgian ale. Floral hoppy, somewhat dry finish. Boring, not much happening in flavor.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2016 Clear and golden beer with a pure white foam. Quite an herbal aroma. I like the sourness and crispiness but the hops and bitterness are a little too earthy for me.

Apr. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured a hazy golden body with frothy and short living head, although it was big initially. Sweetish aroma, fruity and yeasty with touch of grassy hops. Light as a whole. Flavor was bitter, but also very balanced with lightly sweet vanilla malt. Bitterness was herbal and floral. Very highly carbonated, although still thin in body. Longer, lightly bitter finish. Not bad, just unimpressive, especially as a Belgian. Too thin.

Hazy yellow ochre, white big frothy head, sticky lacing spots, summer-look. Fresh aroma, fruity / flowery. Light, sweet, mildly bitter, crisp, lively carbonation, long finish, bit pepper, herbs. Nice one.
