Nov 19, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a beautiful clear red with a small, rough, pinkish head. Sweet cherry aroma. Medium body with very sweet notes of cherry and marzipan. No real bitterness. A bit too much on the sweet side. 290308

Nov 16, 2008 (Tap) Pours a ruby red color with a faint pink hue to the small head. Aroma of ripe mashed cherries. Taste is rather complex, with cherries obviously dominating. As the beer warmed, I got some fleeting amaretto, vanilla and oak (or other wood) notes as well. Rather tart cherry flavor balanced the sweetness pretty nicely. Alcohol is well hidden. Very enjoyable!

Nov 2, 2008 Fruit beer is generally not my thing, but the bright tart cherries, mixed with sweet malt, vanilla and alcohol warmth added up to something I like well enough to try again.

Oct 27, 2008 Bottle. Low and quickly disappearing creamy off-white head. Clear dark red body. Strong cherries marzipan aroma. Cherries and cherries stone flaovr and again the marzipan is there. Low carbonation, short aftertaste. Would not have guessed on such a high alcohol percentage as this beer seems little aggressive.

Oct 27, 2008 Had this at Tyler’s in Carrboro. Pours a dark ruby with a very small, pink head. Lacing is excellent. Nose is cherries and sugar. Taste is sweet but then turns tart and sour. There is some port wine or pinot noir in there. The 8% abv is well hidden. Overall, not too fruity or acidic. Great dessert beer.

Oct 25, 2008 Botella. Kasteel Rouge. Nice ruby colour. Cherry aroma indeed, bit tart. Good mouthfeel. Flavour of cherry with some vanilla and mild touch of wood. Candy fruity finish.
