Poured a dark deep brown into the glass. Aroma was big cherries and belgian sweetness. Taste was big cherries as well, kind of took over in fact. Somebody said it tasted liked cough syrup, I can’t agree completely, but it did have a medicinal quality to it. I thought it was a fun beer to drink though.

750ml corked bottle. I clearly remember arguing with a hostel owner in Tongeren whether Kasteel actually even makes a Kriek beer, so I have my doubts that this one is widely available in Belgium. This is certainly one of my favorite Kriek beers out there. Deep cherry red-brown. Seriously murky. Very mulled taste. The taste is sweet and almost mead like to me, with a thick cherry sweetness. This one’s carbonation is fairly mellow for being bottled 17 months back, but certainly not flat by any means. The cherry juice added really shines through in the aroma. The alcohol level is just right, not too much and certainly not too little. Classic Belgian beer.

one of only a few fruit beers i like, tastes just like cherry soda has a very nice finish ... not very beer like though ... more like some sort of awesome wine cooler

On tap at PP Carlsbad. Red amber color. Great cherry aroma. Sweet with just a hint of tart. Wow, this is fantastically delicious. Perfect for my sweet tooth. Must get more. This is one of my favorite beers.

On tap at Teresa’s Next Door. Pours a mostly translucent ruby ted with a small bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of cherry liquor, a touch of some Belgian yeast esters...but mostly cherry. Flavor is very cherry, more sweet than tart, kind of medicinal. I could see having this with a nice piece of chocolate cake, but not much else.

On draft at Pivovarský klub, Prague. Cherry cough-syrup nose with cherry soda notes. Deep clear red in appearance; visibly fizzy in this incarnation. Sipping, it swerves across the road from real fruit to Cherry Coke and sweet to sour before it T-bones a sugar truck at the final intersection. The surprisingly understated finish climbs out of the wreck unscathed.

Excelent aroma, fruity but not so swetty or disgusting, is not perfum, is real cherries and berries. Red color adn pinky head, makes an atractive contrast for this beer, I really enjoyed this one, it is the true that fruit and malts can be good in adequate proportion
