Pours a ruby color with notes of a lighter pinkish hues... lots lots of cherry in the nose.... flavor is not too sweet, not too lively... a cereal grain underneath the cherry flavor, possibly wheat.. slightly tart, wish it were more tart/sour...

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2010 Drank this out of the 33cl bottle. Aroma of cherries. The taste is syrupy cherries. Thin/medium body. Overall... didn’t like it.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beaver (873) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 23, 2010
750ml bottle, bottled on 11/27/07 - cork dated 3/08. Pours a murky brownish red (almost plum) with a very small fizzy head that quickly goes to a thin collar that leaves little lacing.
The aroma is subdued - sweet cherries and musty wood.
The flavor is sweet sugary cherries with some tart sourness in the finish. There’s some woody malt balance, but the sweetness is a bit cloying. The mouthfeel is medium to full with spritzy carbonation.
Overall, a nice fruit beer. Reminds me a lot of a poor man’s New Glarus Belgian Red. It’s overly sweet and cloying and needs more balance. I remember liking this a little more on tap.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 elihapa (1369) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - FEB 22, 2010
From bottle. Pours dark magenta, with a huge aroma of red jolly rancher, sweet raspberry syrup, a whiff of tartness. The sweetness in this brew is cloying, and honestly, unbearable when drunk straight. The tartness just didn’t kick in until it wasn’t even a factor. Maybe as a sweet berry topping for vanilla ice cream.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dionysus (1257) - Arizona, USA - FEB 11, 2010
Bottle pours burnt ruby with an off-white head and red tinge. Aroma smells of tart cherries covered in sweet cherry syrup and a slight amount of caramel. Flavor shows the same with some additional underlying oak. Body is moderate and the carbonation is relatively soft. Sweeter than I typically like my beer, and I would probably never do more than 1 in a row, but when I’m in the mood it definately hits the spot. Huge sweetness is followed up by a slight amount of acidity keeping it from getting cloying too fast.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 travita (2535) - Frisco, Texas, USA - FEB 10, 2010
The look is dark red in color and has a pink head. The smell is very candy like, cherry, fruits, sweet. almost too sweet. The taste is sweet, candy, cherry, and ok.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - FEB 3, 2010
Had on tap at Haven Gastropub, Orange, CA. Pours a deep brown with shades of red, smells of sweetness and cherries - lots of sweetnesss...too much for me - even for a kriek. Has light brown head, dissipates quickly, with adequate lacing. Very strong flavor of cherries and a tint of alcohol. For me, just waaay to sweet. Not any sourness. Finishes sweet - like all other parts of the beer.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Abio (1058) - Waasland, BELGIUM - FEB 2, 2010
Nice aroma when opening the bottle. Maybe a bit to fruity-sweet , but after all it’s a fruit beer... Dark red colour, a little to less foam in my opinion. Very nice cherish flavour, one of the better cherish-beers I’ve tasted. It’s less overwhelming then what you smell. The fruit-taste isn’t to overwhelming, so you keep the feeling of drinking beer and no soda, like with lots of other fruitbeers.
