Jun 22, 2008 Bottle @ Maria tasting. red colour with a pink head. Aroma is almond, cherry. flavour is sweet, almond, cherry, hint of sourness. Pleasent nice beer i would like to drink again.

Jun 13, 2008 750 ml bottle from Sam’s. Cork says 01/2007. A very rich dark ruby red, very minimal head fades fast. Sweet jolly rancherish smell. Taste is dark cherries, pits, skin, lots of sweetness- a ltitle unbalanced by an unequal amount of acidity- of course I am judging this by other much more sour beers like DeRanke and OudBeersel. Much like a Lindemans, but the cherries are a darker variety. Pretty good overall- glad I tried it, glad it is 8% abv-

Jun 13, 2008 poured a dark red, with purplish pink head. Smells very strong of cherries, the bottle i had was called kasteel rouge and i thought it tasted pretty similar to a lambic but not as sour. Overall very appetizing.

Jun 13, 2008 Pours a two finger pink head that fades to a ring and leaving traces of lace. Deep red color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet cherry nose. Flavor is sweet maraschino cherries with a sweet & sour cherry finish. Higher ABV is hidden. $4.39 for a 330ml bottle from Yankee Spirits South Attleboro, Ma.

Jun 8, 2008 Strong aroma of maraschino cherry. Slightly sweet on the nose, with a light backing of spice. Really a beautiful color in the glass -- a rich reddish brown. Tart palate, not too sweet or cloying, and the alcohol is barely there. Again, cherries dominate the flavors, though there is a mixture of other dark pit fruit in the background.

Jun 7, 2008 pours a nice dark red. The cherry predominates but a very deep taste on this one. Really much better than I thought it would be, and the alcohol is well disguised.

Jun 7, 2008 Pours a deep cherry red color with a pink head. Decent lacing. Aroma is outstanding. Sweet dark fruit and slight spice. Flavor is bold and fruity but malty. Nice sweet finish and lingering cherry. Teally love this beer.

Jun 5, 2008 aroma - some yeast and alcohol cherrbut mostly sweet cherry juice and rock candy
appearance - deep pretty red cherry color
flavor - sweet cherries, winey, malt, some tartness with faint bitterness
palate - full and sweet with just the right amount of carbonation
not a conventional beer in my sense of the word but really good for what it is. would be great with dessert, esp dark chocolate, or as dessert itself. I had it on its own and loved it. cant wait to try the kasteel tripel
