Pours a deep cherry red color with a pink head. Decent lacing. Aroma is outstanding. Sweet dark fruit and slight spice. Flavor is bold and fruity but malty. Nice sweet finish and lingering cherry. Teally love this beer.

aroma - some yeast and alcohol cherrbut mostly sweet cherry juice and rock candy appearance - deep pretty red cherry color flavor - sweet cherries, winey, malt, some tartness with faint bitterness palate - full and sweet with just the right amount of carbonation not a conventional beer in my sense of the word but really good for what it is. would be great with dessert, esp dark chocolate, or as dessert itself. I had it on its own and loved it. cant wait to try the kasteel tripel

Dark reddish coloured beer with small reddish coloured head. Some nice centre carbonation visible. Cherry like aroma. A sweet full palate. Sweet balanced ending finishing off more to a bitter touch.

750 ml. champagne style bottle. Corked and caged. 11/2007 on cork. Loud pop when released. Poured out a deep cherry red color, with a thin brownish head. Decent carbonation, thick mouthfeel. Aromas are of cherry liqueur, cherry pie, cherry Kool-Aid. Flavors are cherry pie, tart, sour, sweet and delicious. No alcohol in aromas or flavors. Dangerously drinkable. Top notch beer overall.

750 bottle from John Henry at Newport Pizza and Ale house. Pours deep red-brown with a pinkish head. Tart cherry aroma with some underlying malty sweetness. Very sweet cherry flavor which smooths out to an oaky tartness. There’s a hint of sweet liqueur around the edges, but the cherry definitely dominates. And somehow they kept it from tasting like medicine. The 8% alcohol is nowhere to be found, making this probably the most dangerous beer out there, as it’s incredibly easy to drink quickly.

Bottle Kasteel Rouge from Party Town, KY. Poured reddish brown color and an average frothy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate cherry tart fruit aroma. Medium body with lively carbonation. Medium tart cherry flavor with a medium sweet citrus finish of moderate duration. Refreshing fruit beer.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. A deep burgundy red color. The head is a pinkish color. Pretty fizzy and thin. The aroma is a malted sour cherry soaked in some alcohol. The flavor is really sweet and sour. There is a little medicinal cherry. My wife says it tasted like Cherokee Red. Not a whole lot of complexity, sweet and sour cherry with some alcohol. The palate has a decent thickness with a nice spritzy carbonation.

Pours deep, dark red with a great, medium, frothy, pink head. Aroma is sweet cherries, light caramel and orange-like tartness. Mouthfeel is very dry and fresh, medium carbonation. Flavour has lots of fat, sweet cherries, very grainy and with a slight fruity tartness. Finely balanced.
