sigma23 (217), , Maine, USA Sep 2, 2009 pours rich red with no head. aroma is instantly bursting with cherries. drinks with sweet cherries and more cherries. less a beer then an alcoholic soda. very dangerous as its very drinkable @ 8%. CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Aug 29, 2009 On tap at Track 84 - Warwick, RI. Fresh wet black cherries in the
nose with some strong citric acid and light honeyed sweetness.
Pours a murky bright red-brown, with a creamy off-white head.
Flavor is dominated by a lightly sweet straight sour cherry
juice. The sweetness of the malt in the beer plays off the cherry
sourness and gives decent balance, despite a somewhat thin body.
Yeast character or much beer flavor are missing. Somewhat
shallow. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Aug 29, 2009 Draft at Ebenezer’s. Dark reddish brown with ring. Cherry soda woody aroma. Cherry caramel spicy cherry soda. Spritzy. Pretty good. Jayb0 (750), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Aug 25, 2009 A bold beer that will stand out in a crowd. Lively head, big aroma of cherries and malt. Nice interplay of fruit and malt, good balance of sour and sweet. Nekronos (2243), Xalapa, Mexico Aug 24, 2009 This was just superb, it is one of the beers that make you happy when in Belgium and also force you to promise to go back one day. AtlAggie (131), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 22, 2009 On tap at Brick Store. Pretty beer, deep ruby red with a nice foamy head. Aroma sweet, largely of cherries. Strong cherry flavor, pretty sweet, although not cloying. Slight bitterness on finish. Wish there was more sour flavors to balance out the sweetness. Not bad, but not my favorite kriek. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Aug 21, 2009 red with a light pink head. nose is tart cherries. smooth on the palate with a flavor of black cherries and sugar. thirdeye11 (403), Texas, USA Aug 21, 2009 (750ml bottle) Pours a deep red with nice head. Quite bubbly. Nose of black cherries, some tart in there as well. Taste is syrupy, cherry, but not tart like the smell seemed to indicate. If it was this could be a much better beer. The lingering on the palette is that of artificial sweetener so bitter, but not like a hop profile.
