Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.

Dark red, with a light frothy bit pinkish head. Noses of dark red fruits, light zesty cherry and citrates aromas. Light carbonated texture, sweet with some fruity sourness. Medium bodied. Fruity finish, alcohol aromatic.

This is definitely one of the most tasty beer that Iíve tried. Cherry is well ballanced with beer and because of the low bitterness girls can drink it too :)

if you believe your beer should taste like fruit lollipops, then this is the beer for you. okay, that is underselling it. the cherry flavour here is really quite unbelievable, and a first for any beer iíve tasted. that might make me biased in favour of it, but still - this is absurdly unique. delicious.

Aroma: very cherries Color&Flavour: Colors is burgundy/dark cherry, foam isnít big, reduce fast to the ring around the glass, no lacing. Flavour is impressive, at the first plan are sour cherries, beer is very smooth and easy drinking. Finish is dry and sour.

I love cherries but didn?t know what to expect with this in a belgian style beer. Well I loved it. The aroma is undoubtedly cherries. The appearance is dark clear ruby with a one finger white head that dissipated quickly. Palate was very good with just the right carbonation. Taste is ... well lots of cherries and Kasteel Donker. Overall I love the combination. If you love cherries it is for you. If you don?t it is worth the try. Cheers!

Poured from a September 2013 bottle into a snifter a darkest brown red with a think white head. Aroma is a cherry life saver candy. Flavor is amazing! The cherry flavor is prominent but not crazy as I do not like cherry flavored beverages. Smooth & a nice subtle sweetness. I love Kasteel Donker and with the cherry....WOW! Definitely in my top three fave fruit brews.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2014 íRedí Kasteelbier since 2007 and, as Van Honsebrouck has always done, seeking connection with a trend, in this case of heavy sweet cherry beers, popular nowadays in Wallonia and northern France. Very dark red beer with brownish hue and pinkish head, more complex than usual in sweet fruit beers, with - except from the more than obvious cherry liqueur - hints of pear, dates and candi sugar. Taste dominated by sweet cherry liqueur and artificial fruit, full but too sweet and sticky for my tooth, though I have to admit this is better than many of its congeners.

11.2oz bottle, thanks to Sean Y. Bottled on 2013/10/09. Mostly clear very dark red color. Appears near-black in poor lighting. Thin light brown / off-white head, that leaves some loose bits of lace. Pretty nice cherry nose. Like the maraschino cherries that they put in sodas. Taste is like a belgian brown ale (not a sour brown). Maybe just a light bit of sourness from the cherries, but itís very mild tart. Moderate bitter taste, more dry finish. Light to moderate sweet, a little alcohol warmth. Taste is not that impressive compared to the nose, tastes kind of like an alco-pop. Light belgian spiciness. Bigger body. Kind of a stronger, softer carbonation. Kind of slick. Not terrible, but not great at all. Below average as far as belgians go. Not impressed. A pretty slow sipper. Would have been a good 11.2oz bottle to split, rather than try to chief myself. Didnít get too much worse as I went, though, stayed pretty consistent. Ended up finishing, over a longer period of time.

Tap at Le Senk. Aroma mostly cherry, quite intense. Clear deep ruby colour, white head with a pink tint. Strong cherry in taste. I also get light walnuts and faint hints of caramel. Quite intensely sweet, lacking some kind of balance. Good beer, but IMO single-dimensional and unbalanced.
