3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 1, 2009
Deep ruby/garnet red color with half-finger sized pink head. Moderate sweet, quite tart cherry aroma.
Syrupy sweet alcoholic-dark cherries in the flavor with just a slight belgian dark ale character.
Medium alcoholic edge at the medium. Tart fruity and warming alcoholic feel in the finish. A pleasant dessert or maybe? aperitif beer.

Sampled at Pints for Pets. Has a great cherry pie aroma, sweet and musky and satisfying. Dark ruby red clear with a thin off-white head. Medium heavy sugary body with medium carbonation. Sweet and cherry flavor from start to finish - a bit too sweet but tasty nonetheless.

Aroma of bold cherry, reminded the wife of her cough medicine. Dark red body with fizzy head that disapated quickly. Carbonated tart, good cherry juice flavor. Left a medium cherry liquor taste on the palate. Good brew!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Geiserich (2278) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAY 22, 2009
Bottled: Dark, red wine color. Low head. Aroma with intensive cherry and almonde notes. Flavor has an intensive cherry note, not sweet, light sourly, very fruity. Intensive almonde note too. Very nice fruity drink, but few beer character.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2009
Enjoyed via draft and 11.2 oz bottle in a tulip glass. Pours a red to slightly dark ruby color. Aromas of cherries and a touch of malt sweetness come through in the aroma. This is a beer that really impresses on the palate. I am a tremendous fan of good kriek beers, not to mention Flanders Oud Bruins and Reds. In a sense, this beer is a combination of the first and the third. It is not as outright fruity as a Lindeman’s Kriek, but not as tart as a Rodenbach. Deceptively strong at 8%abv., it is appropriate for any time of the year.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 janubio (223) - SPAIN - MAY 11, 2009
Wow! another Absolutely great Kasteel beer! I first tasted this one in some bar in Amsterdam a few months ago and I was absolutely impressed. I found a place to buy a bottle and have it home. Served in a Kasteel glass. Very beautiful cherry red colour, with wonderful ruby reflections when hold it to the light. Pinky creamy foam, like a cherrie ice cream, that last just for a second. Smells of cherries, marzipan, apple pie, bitter almonds or Amaretto. A like brandy flavor, tastes of cherries, vanilla, apricot, acid notes from the cherries, but is also sweet, nice balanced, and I find even some pepper.
