Poured a very dark brownish red with not much of a head, but what’s there is slightly pink. Aroma smells like a cherry life saver, more sweet than fruity. Taste is slightly tart and very sweet to start and the tartness takes over the finish. A tad bit of real fruity sourness begins to come out after a while. An interesting brew. thornecb (1755), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Cherry aromas...and cherries from front to a slight tart middle and a malty back. Sticky and sweet overall...not for me.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Sickly, candy-sweet cherry ale that reminded me of cough syrup. On tap at La Porte Noire. Pours bright red, like my childhood memories of Wild Cherry Shasta. Big cherry-candy nose promises sweetness. I hoped the aroma would be sweeter than the flavor; sadly I was wrong. I believe this is one of the most cloyingly sweet beers I have ever tasted. No tartness at all for me, which possibly comes only from bottle conditioning. Carbonation also like soda pop, plus syrupy and sticky. Use this to attract honeybees or teen-age girls who don’t like beer. As I’m not in the market for either, I had to return it to the bartender. Medium mouthfeel with high carbonation, this one is fresh. Tasty, not too tart. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2008 Pours a deep burgandy rose color, with a fine light pink head. Aroma is definitely cherries, almost like a cherry cough drop. Tastes of sweet and tart cherries. Good beer, but only one a night for me. Appearance: bloody brown with ruby like hints, tinted pinkish top Nose : Light cherry notes , sweet but over the top , some bubblegum as well. Aroma reminded me of traditional Polish Kompot. Rare occurrence, true fruity aroma. Flavor/Palate : Refreshing . Fully satisfying authentic fruit flavours . Light tartness , proper balance sweetness . Cherry pulp. This one is must have brew on my list.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2008 Pours a nice deep, dark cherry red with a nice little pink head that quickly dissipates. The nose is a huge rush of cherries. It is not as sweet as you would expect. Definitely has a rich cherry flavor with a touch of chocolate. Not overly sweet or cloying in any way. Finishes clean with a nice bitterness.
