Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Poe House. Good for style but not for me. Overly sweet in a cough syrup or cheerwine kind of way. Definitely has some depth to it with the sour/tart overtones but sweet cherry wins out. Would try again with some food to temper sweetness.

Bof

Aroma is sweet cherry , apple, light malts, and cheesecake. Taste is sweet malts, cherry, and tart. Finishes sour. The appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Aroma: sour cherry with some roasted notes. Taste: moderate to strong sweetness balanced with cherry sourness. Flavour: sour cherry, alcohol, bitter almond. Very good for fruit beer.

Backlog rating. Keg at Mother Kelly’s, London. Aroma is sweet cheery syrup, some caramel and burnt sugar. Taste has more sweet cherries, caramel, dark fruits. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, simple and sweet

Bottle 0.33L. Dark red body with an average, frothy, pink head, mostly lasting with some lacing. Aroma is dominated by sweet cherry notes; some light spices. Moderate sweet flavour with some acidic notes. Medium body with watery; soft carbonation. Nice, satisfactory beer.

Not a big fan of sweet stuff, and this is definitely sweet. However, a lot better than expected. Full body. Candy flavour. Foam disappears very fast. Overal a tasty beer, but One is enough!

Mmm carbonated cherry syrup... Yuck. Definitely not what I expected for a blend of a brown ale and cherry liquor... get a cherry sour or lambic instead.

Welcomed by a very nice deep dark red color and a redish head that is only worth a fruit soda, this beer offers a full cherry blast... Too full? Yepp. It's somehow too artificial in my eyes. And too sweet. Why do they have to use sweeteners...? But it's a nice drinkable beer and its cherry sweetness is nicely balanced by a dry hop finish and a subtld woody note. Overall too mainstream - I miss some edges and character.
