Pours deep red-brown with a pinkish head. Tart cherry aroma with some underlying malty sweetness. Very sweet cherry flavor which smooths out to an oaky tartness. There’s a hint of sweet liqueur around the edges, but the cherry definitely dominates. And somehow they kept it from tasting like medicine. The 8% alcohol is nowhere to be found, making this probably the most dangerous beer out there, as it’s incredibly easy to drink quickly.

Draft. Aroma of rich, tart crushed cherries. Some dry wood on the backside. Pours rich, dark ruby with violet highlights. Flavor starts as syrupy cherry sweetness. Tart and dry on the finish. Despite the initial sweetness, it finishes rather dry. Rich and creamy on the palate.

Poured a deeply red hued color, some hints of brown seem to be trying to peek through. Aroma is full on pie cherries and pie spices. There is a touch of almond as well. Flavor is very fruity, a full on cherry attack, not subtle at all. I like this beer alot.

Bottled (as Kasteel Rouge) poured dark red in flute with reddish white head smells like cherries sweet wonderfully full pallete tastes like a cherry sweet tart. Not to sweet not to tart niclely ballenced great cabonation . I love this beer

Bottled (as Kasteel Rouge) at Stockholm Beer Festival. Deep ruby, rich head. Concentrated cherry aroma. Sweet and very powerful. The intense richness of the Kasteel meets tart juicy cherries. It’s still very sweet, and it’s not that complex - still I find myself intensely enjoying it. An unusual beer that deinitely serves a purpose.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 21 Sep 2007) Dark red colour with frothy, pink head. Fruity nose with distinct notes of cherries and hints of bitter almonds. Fruity taste with full, fresh cherry flavour and hints of almonds. Rather sweet, but with a fresh cherry character. Nice beer.

Dark red coloured beer with some slight carbonation and a medium white-pinkish head. Fruity, cherry aroma with hints of oak, fruit stone and malts. Full palate. FInish is fruity sweet-malty bitter cherry touch. Nice one.

Bottle… Clear crimson ale with a mid-sized, creamy, pink head. Terrific retention. Sweet, black cherries with accompanying notes of vanilla and cinnamon fill out the nose. The flavor is mostly sweet, tart and medium bitter… tannic, medicinal and a touch boozy. All this adds up to an odd type of balance. Full-bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Tangy, bitter-sweet finish.
