Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Jul 27, 2009 The pour is a turbid brown with red on the highlights and a head that was tan with some pink tint to it. The aroma is cherry. Tart and sweet at the same time, some woody, earthy notes as it approached room temperature. The flavor is cherry juice with it steering more towards sweet than tart. A bit of balanced wood and caramel came out as it opened up. The mouthfeel is almost medium in body with a surprisingly dry finish. Bigsilky (322), Charleston, USA Jul 21, 2009 One of the most hedonistic fruit beers I have encountered. Amazing garnet hue with a pink tinged head. The aromas of fresh crushed cherries envelope the senses. One fights to find the beer in this elixir, it’s tough. Sweet cherries cover the tongue as a seductive acidity gives some lift to the palate. No hops at all. Cherry, cola in fact, finishes and leaves the palate with a crimson kriek stain. Amazingly balanced, the abv. is almost undetectable until the back of the throat. Hedonism at it’s best. Amazing with or as dessert. Subsitute for Ruby port. 93 blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 18, 2009 bottle, dark red brown pour, hazy pinkish ring, aroma is cherry kolache, pastry and cherry filling, flavors of pithy cherry pits, cherry pie, finish is a little short or this could give a good run at NG DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jul 15, 2009 From the Bottle at Tom’s Ultimate Glasgow Tasting, Blackfriars 01/12/2007
Strong spicy cherry aroma. Red and sweet on the palate with some sour fruit flavour. Full cherry finish. Ygberg (82), Sweden Jul 13, 2009 Updated: Sep 11, 2009Aroma of cherries and Dr Pepper. The apperance is dark red. The taste is of sweet and souer cherries. This is much like a Dr. Pepper beer. And because Dr. Pepper is awsome this beer is awsome. However if you don’t want your beer to taste like Dr. Pepper this beer is not recommended. beerlady (443), lucerne, Switzerland Jul 10, 2009 from beerplanet lowe zürich
beer is brown with a strong reddish hint, head is reddish offwhite, almoust pink
smells of cherrys, but not in a way who hides maltyness, some alcohol in smell too
tasts of cherrys, sweet, but malty too, some bitterness, yeast, altough it is rather sweet, there is a refreshing sourish hint hidden there
aftertaste bittersweet with a sourish hint
better than some other krieks rabidbarfly (57), London, England Jul 8, 2009 Love this beer, Beautiful cherry nose, clear red colour and lovely lambic kriek taste that lingers and warms you up, makes it ideal for summer or winter. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 5, 2009 Bottle. [Beer festival 2009] Not a spectacular beer, but I quite enjoyed this one. Average fizzy white/reddish head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Lovely dark red color. Heavy sweet cherry just as we like it. Also notes of mixed fruity, marzipan, yeast, mild underlying malty sweetness and a feel of brown sugar like notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Heavy sweet flavor with a hint of acidic. Lingering heavy sweet cherry finish. More of that please.
