Bottle at Café Leffe. Stopped in to use the loo. Deep, dark, red-crimson with a pink head. Pretty. Big cherry nose, vanilla an yogurt. Super sweet cherry flavor, slightly tangy, malty, like a black cherry yogurt. Tasty but not very impressive.

Dieses Bier ist angereichert mit Kirsch- und Holunderbeersaft, was sich auch im Geruch niederschlägt. Kirschig und bittermandelig steigen die Geruchsaromen in die Nase. Der Geschmack gibt sich weich verhalten süffig. Wieder ein bitter-kirschiges Feeling mit fast scharf-pfeffriger Note (8%).
Insgesamt entsteht ein etwas dumpfer Gesamteindruck. Noch ok, aber auch arg spritig ausgefallen. Test vom 24.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Pours a dark red colour with a white head which collapses quickly. Aroma of sweet malts, cherries and some mild hops to balance the taste. Medium bodied, quite smooth mouthfeel and a warming cherry finish. Not too sweet and actually quite natural. Good one.

Reddish mahogany with a purple tinged head; syrupy full body with medium-high carbonation.
Aroma: a ton of sour cherry pie filling.
Taste: very fruity sweet and sour cherries up front, some dark earthy horse-blanket funkiness in the middle, cherry pits in the finish, and warm alcohol lingering through the aftertaste.
I love the cherry character, so ripe and fruity, and intense. The underlying beer is maybe not so good, but it’s hard to tell. About six ounces is really nice, then the cherry and alcohol get to be a bit much. This could certainly make for amazing pairings.

The beer pours a reddish-purple color with a small white head. The aroma is unmistakable. I get a ton of cherries with nothing else. While the aroma is one dimensional, the cherries are well done. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of sweet cherries and maybe a little bit of some caramel or toffee malt. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. If you like cherries, you may like this beer. If you don’t like them, this is not the beer for you.

Chuť opravdu po višních, kdyby nemělo takový obsah alkoholu, člověk by si myslel, že je to limonáda.

Again a fruitbeer, though this isn’t the worst. Still don’t like the smell and taste, it’s still a too artificial, chemical and sweet-sour for me. Nice color though and nice carbo and body.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2011 I drank this as Kasteel Rouge. I once had a case with 24 bottles of this beer so i’ve tasted this quite a few times. Also my girlfriend her favorite beer.
It’s a really nice sweet beer with a sourish aftertaste. The good thing about this beer is that it’s 8% abv, unlike other low alcohol fruit beers. Very nice brew.
