Taste is a great mix of cherries and tartness. Probably the best fruit beer I’ve ever had. harrisoni (6771), Ashford, Kent, England
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 1, 2009 33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. I’m sorry am I missing something here?? How did this beer get such a high score for 403 people?? Musty fake cherry aroma, clearly has sweetened cherry juice added to it. Yes it has a bit of flemish ale character to it, but it is just overly dominated by a sugar kiddie sweet cherry flavour. Yes perfectly drinkable, but not a particularly good fruit beer. If you want a sugary sweet, enhanced children’s drink then you can get them in the local pub in the alcopops section. Does this sound harsh?? Yeah, probably, yes I enjoyed it, but I like sweet sugary fruity drinks. Gets the default 2.3 score I’m afraid for being drinkable, but not really a beer. judasbeer (242), Budapest, Hungary
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 1, 2009 Deep ruby/garnet red color with half-finger sized pink head. Moderate sweet, quite tart cherry aroma.
Syrupy sweet alcoholic-dark cherries in the flavor with just a slight belgian dark ale character.
Medium alcoholic edge at the medium. Tart fruity and warming alcoholic feel in the finish. A pleasant dessert or maybe? aperitif beer. Ober (1188), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2009 A clear dark red colored beer, with a dark rose foamy head. The aroma is sweet with a lot of cherries. The taste is sweet, fruity, dark cherries, with some bitter and alcohol.
The aftertaste is dry, sweet with a little bitter and warm. Nate (2538), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2009 Sampled at Pints for Pets. Has a great cherry pie aroma, sweet and musky and satisfying. Dark ruby red clear with a thin off-white head. Medium heavy sugary body with medium carbonation. Sweet and cherry flavor from start to finish - a bit too sweet but tasty nonetheless. Bockyhorsey (2511), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2009 Aroma of bold cherry, reminded the wife of her cough medicine. Dark red body with fizzy head that disapated quickly. Carbonated tart, good cherry juice flavor. Left a medium cherry liquor taste on the palate. Good brew! Geiserich (1778), Vienna, Austria
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2009 Bottled: Dark, red wine color. Low head. Aroma with intensive cherry and almonde notes. Flavor has an intensive cherry note, not sweet, light sourly, very fruity. Intensive almonde note too. Very nice fruity drink, but few beer character. RHeastings (395), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2009 Enjoyed via draft and 11.2 oz bottle in a tulip glass. Pours a red to slightly dark ruby color. Aromas of cherries and a touch of malt sweetness come through in the aroma. This is a beer that really impresses on the palate. I am a tremendous fan of good kriek beers, not to mention Flanders Oud Bruins and Reds. In a sense, this beer is a combination of the first and the third. It is not as outright fruity as a Lindeman’s Kriek, but not as tart as a Rodenbach. Deceptively strong at 8%abv., it is appropriate for any time of the year.
