3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martinus (663) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2011
Deep red, with a pinkish head.
Heavy sweet cherry aroma. Flavour rather sweet, again heavy on the cherries. No real bitterness, but some nice malt touches manage to come through. Notes of vanilla and almonds or rather apricot pips. Alcohol well concealed. Nice, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 rlaw (715) - Alabama, USA - APR 28, 2011
Bottle. Pours a deep dark red with a small pinkish head. Aroma and flavor is -wow- cherries. Not fake cherry but loads of real cherry -- sweet and tart and very strong. There’s an underlying maltiness, even a muskiness, and a bit of yeast, but the emphasis is almost all on the cherries. Aroma is more sweet; flavor is more sour. Alcohol pokes through a bit. Sort of a one-trick pony. If you like cherries and/or fruit beer, check this out.

Wow...now this is a fruit beer. Those Belgians got this style locked. Aroma of heavy cherries. Pour was a sassy mouthwatering deep dark red/almost brown with a 2 finger cherry colored head. Taste was a yummy splash of sour cherries and not much else. You almost have to question the alcohol content. There is a little alcoholic burn in the aftertaste, but doesn’t seem 8% by any means. all in all Great beer.

I am a big fan of the Kasteel products. I haven’t had a bad beer from them yet. This is my first of many reviews from this brewery. The Kasteel Rouge pours a dark brownish/red color. Aroma is fair. Although I am not a big fan of the fruity beers what makes this enjoyable, is that the fruit flavor of the cherries does not overtake the taste of the beer.

Nice bottle - like champagne. Red color with rich pink foam. Aroma of cherries. Cherries in taste also, little malty tones. Some alcohol tones also. Better than almost fruit beers, but fruit beers are not my favorites.

Velice lahodně kompotově višňové a přece pivně hořké. A nejsou v něm pecky.

Kasteel
Rouge
Pours really red with a thin off white head. Did I mention it was red. Aroma is a cherry bomb with hints of red wine and wood (like oak). Flavor is slightly tart with a medium sweetness to balance the tart. Cherries abound like a cherry soda and some alcohol for fun. My kid would drink this, but he doesn’t like beer
