Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.

[At Dr. Bill’s afterparty after GABF 2004 - 7 years old] An unclear dark red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by cherries. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries and wood and an extremely dry end. Lovely.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2008 Bottled. Rubyish brown colour with a small pinkish head. Aroma is rather sweet cherries, but at the same time some mild sour notes lurking in the background. Quite real cherries in both aroma and flavour. Except for cherries the flavour also has some sweet malts and only slight sour notes. More a sweet cherry beer than sour one, making it very refreshing.

Bottled (as Kasteel Rouge) at Stockholm Beer Festival. Deep ruby, rich head. Concentrated cherry aroma. Sweet and very powerful. The intense richness of the Kasteel meets tart juicy cherries. It’s still very sweet, and it’s not that complex - still I find myself intensely enjoying it. An unusual beer that deinitely serves a purpose.

Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting ... Deep cherry red... sweet cheery nose ... realy quite juice like ... Quite sweet with a little tartness in linger. No real depth but wonderfull drinkable, while at the same time not a patch on the New Glarus Belgian Red
