First cherry beer I have actually enjoyed. Pours dark ruby red, small foam does not last, tight little pink head remains. Nose is distinct sweet cherry, good carbonation like soda. After taste leaves little bitterness on the toungue.

Chuť opravdu po višních, kdyby nemělo takový obsah alkoholu, člověk by si myslel, že je to limonáda.

Score another one for the Belgians. Nice blend of fruit and spices. Not too tart and not too mellow. Very nice balance of complexity.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2007 This is a kriek-style beer but others have done better. The head of this beer is insignificant, almost none. A lot of cherry flavor turning sour. The aftertaste is somewhat sweet.

I tasted this beer with my best friend Jen. I hated it, she loved it. Fruit beers just aren’t my thing so I let her give the ratings to keep things more objective. Pours beautifully with a violet body and champagne pink head. This is a pretty beer. The nose is all over the place with perfume, soap, cherries... and play-dough. Seriously, we both smelled it. The taste reminded me of cough syrup and Jen of cherry flavored Jagermeifter. It was, as advertised, gastronomically special. We were burping for at least thirty minutes.

Bottle from Valu Mart. Tart Mortmencery cherry aroma dominates. Tall off-white head. Medium mouthfeel, and thd flavor is "cherry all the time". Like a cherry soda that happens to be a Belgian beer. Awesome.

Empalagosa, golosa, amb un gust de cireres molt i molt intens. No per prendre’n excessivament., però pot combinar bé amb segons que.

Nose of rich cherries. Pours slightly hazy, with golden-red color. Small head which disappears quickly. Flavor is very sweet, with cherries. Has a dry, crisp finish. I’m a fan!

Not a good looking beer in general, but nice for the style. It pours a dark burgundy with a think pinkish head. Looks very rich sitting in the goblet. Doesn’t really smell like a beer; the cherry smell is undeniable and overpowers everything else. But, it’s such a fabulous smell nontheless. The taste follows the smell. I expected the strong cherry smell to translate into a sour taste, but it’s not at all. It’s slightly tart, but there’s plenty of sweet to it. A lot of complexity, as it’s sweet, tangy, tart and dry. However, none of the feelings are obnoxious. The best fruit beer I’ve ever had. In addition, one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Serving type: bottle

I had kasteel rogue on draft at Monks in Philadelphia. It poured a very dark red/brown. Hard to see through. The taste was of tart cherries, but I felt it was over done as the base beer taste was lost. Overall worth trying, but be prepared for a almost lambic tartness.
