Pours ruby red with a nice foamy ruby head, that lingered all the way to the end. Aroma of oak and cherry. Flavor of cherries, no doubt with a hint of oak and chocolate. Nice lingering aftertaste of cherry/oak. Nice medium body. Not syrupy at all. Nice beer to drink on a rainy spring night. Smooth mouthfeel. Very nice beer

Pours reddish brown with a huge pink head. Heavy aroma of sour cherries with some notes of oak. Flavour is pretty sweet cherry, oak and some other dark fruits.

Jul 21, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours reddish brown, capped with a moderate sized pink-white head. Aroma of sour cherry, with some wood and nuttiness. Tart, sour cherry flavor, with some wood and malt. Long, mildly tart finish. Cherry flavor is slightly medicinal and a bit synthetic, but its still enjoyable.

Jul 19, 2008 Pours a deep ruby color with almost no head. Aroma is straight cherry cough syrup with no other hints of anything really present.
Flavor is more of the same. Cloying, sweet, like cherry syrup from an Italian ice place. There are definitely other better cherry beers out there.

Jul 17, 2008 Bottle 33 cl called `Kasteel Rouge´. Pours a clear red with a medium white head and a cherry-like aroma. The taste is fruity, mostly cherries and not too sweet. Doesn’t feel like 8% abv, not something special, but pretty good for a commercial fruit beer
