Sampled on draft at the Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh this beer poured a dark black cherry color with a small pink head. The aroma was strong sweet cherry. The flavor was tangy, sweet and lightly tart with a strong black cherry element and a long tart cherry finish. Wonderful.

Reddish brown color with thin layer of foam. Cherry cola and champagne aroma. Taste of sour cherry syrup with oak and cola with some nuttiness. Its what’s for dessert!

I am admittedly not an expert on Belgium beers, but I know what I like, and this one has an intensity of flavor I have never experienced before. Although the alcohol content is high, it isn’t evident. The taste is intense and sweet, but not overpowering; and there is no aftertaste. I found it delightful!
BTW, it was available on tap at the Downers Grove, Illinois Bavarian Inn
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cavie (3248) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - JUN 2, 2009
Clouded violet pour. Head forms a pink ring around the glass. Cherry sweet aroma. Taste is a great mix of cherries and tartness. Probably the best fruit beer I’ve ever had.

Not a good looking beer in general, but nice for the style. It pours a dark burgundy with a think pinkish head. Looks very rich sitting in the goblet.
Doesn’t really smell like a beer; the cherry smell is undeniable and overpowers everything else. But, it’s such a fabulous smell nontheless.
The taste follows the smell. I expected the strong cherry smell to translate into a sour taste, but it’s not at all. It’s slightly tart, but there’s plenty of sweet to it.
A lot of complexity, as it’s sweet, tangy, tart and dry. However, none of the feelings are obnoxious.
The best fruit beer I’ve ever had. In addition, one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

Reddish pour with slightly pinkish thin head, massive cherry aroma. Ton of sweet cherry flavor (almost syrupy), slightly earthy, with a nice alcohol heat finish. This works very well, but I would prefer a little less sweetness of cherry, and a little more body/ linger on the tongue.

A delicious mild tasting fruity beer. Deceptively strong. Thoroughly enjoyable.
