Flavor is of sweet dark cherries. The alcohol is cleverly concealed. I was not expecting much but this beer is a knockout.

appearance - deep pretty red cherry color
flavor - sweet cherries, winey, malt, some tartness with faint bitterness
palate - full and sweet with just the right amount of carbonation
not a conventional beer in my sense of the word but really good for what it is. would be great with dessert, esp dark chocolate, or as dessert itself. I had it on its own and loved it. cant wait to try the kasteel tripel bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 2, 2008 750 bottle from John Henry at Newport Pizza and Ale house. Pours deep red-brown with a pinkish head. Tart cherry aroma with some underlying malty sweetness. Very sweet cherry flavor which smooths out to an oaky tartness. There’s a hint of sweet liqueur around the edges, but the cherry definitely dominates. And somehow they kept it from tasting like medicine. The 8% alcohol is nowhere to be found, making this probably the most dangerous beer out there, as it’s incredibly easy to drink quickly.

Pours dark ruby red, small foam does not last, tight little pink head remains. Nose is distinct sweet cherry, good carbonation like soda. After taste leaves little bitterness on the toungue. mithe (90), Czech Republic
