a little let down since i wasis was told this was a real lambic but ratebeer says it is just a fruit beer. Well the color is a deep red and the aroma is tart fruit. the taste starts very sweet than breaks into a bitter deep cherry. like cough drops or cherry soda. A good replacement for champaign.

Absurdo absoluto. O aroma de cereja e alcool convida para uma deliciosa apreciação lembrando licor de cereja e vinho, com um espessamento característico de um suco. Beba e surpreenda-se.

red ruby amber colour, the head settles into a thin, pink white lacing around the edges of the glass. The aromascape is indeed full of cherry. I am not the biggest cherry fan but this aroma manages to be juicy, full and balanced without the overly sweet, industrial cherry aroma you get from most cherry drink products; surprisingly pleasant to explore. Having said that, there is not much else here to be discovered. Only faint signs of other fruit like banana and grapes are present, but I wonder if this is because of the general nature of the cherry aroma rather than the work of the brewery. It would have been nice to have more malt side too, the general feels is tipped to the juice side a bit too much. The taste is extremely sweet and manages to destroy what the aroma created; a subtle presence. There is a nice "apple juice -like" sour character here like in a sour/wild beer that has potential, but the sweetness is still way too overpowering and does not give space to anything else. Even when you get past the initial super sweet wash, the experience feels quite weak and has no further dimension to explore. It is to be mentioned that I am not a big fan of very sweet "juice" beers. I like when it’s done properly, adding the flavours in a subtle way during the brewing process. This just makes me feel like they simply mixed juice with beer. That, in my book, is more of a mixed drink than a beer. I like what the Williams Bros brewery has done with Roisin. That is a good example of how to create a balanced, in-context beer with meaning and character. Having fruit/berries in the mix without being too strong or taste like cider. Putting the fruit or berry in a more subtle position sometimes makes it more meaningful, deeper and more important.

Reviewed from notes (2007).
A: A lovely burgundy (dark red-brown-purple)... with a slight cream head that sticks around for a minute before leaving behind lace on the glass.
S: Rich, delicate black cherry aroma... sweet and sour blend from start to finish with hints of almond.
T: The taste follows the aroma.>. sweet cherries hit the mouth first followed by the sour-tart finish.
M: Much smoother and more pleasant on the tongue than some other cherry beers... the medium body is complimented well by lasting carbonation.
O: Despite being my favorite of the cherry (non-lambic) beers, I can only drink one of these in an evening... but I would certainly return for another.
