COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.

330ml bottle served in a Kasteel chalice. A: Pours a dark and clear color forming a ligh rose color with small retention and very lacings left S: Very sweet and fruity. Strong notes of cherry syrup T: Very and too sweet upfront. Again, strong notes of red fruits and mainly cherries. Quite artificial notes of syrup. Some sourness and a mild hoppy bitter end helps to give ir some dignity M: Medium body and carbonation. Sweet and slightly sour aftertaste O: Too sweet and syrupy to my taste. Fruit beers, I prefer the drier ones like Cantillons or 3Fonteinens. I do not recommend this one [ BA Review @ 1/26/2013 ]

Red and dark beer, bottle 33cl. Good aroma, but not the better, well balanced by the great taste of dark cherries and sugar. Got a really nice appearance of dark, red-brown colour. Palate not really relevant.

Pours dark red. Average sized, nor very creamy, head with medium persistence. Aroma is overwhelmed by cherries and sugar. Good creamy mouthfeel, alcohol well masked. Balanced warm finish. Taste is sugar and cherries.

Bottle from World of Beer as a carryout. Pours dark, deep red colored with a finger of pink head that recedes quickly. Cherry boquet off the top of this one , slightly tart but mostly black sweet ones, a bit of cranberry note, very fruity and not much else going on, though it’s nice if you’re a fan of cherries. Flavor is a big punch of black cherries, not much in the way of hops or malt or yeast or sourness here. Basically black cherry juice with some carbonation. Nevertheless, this isn’t extremely overly sweet and is somewhat pleasant as a dessert beer. Medium bodied with plus carbonation that keeps things from being super syrupy. Overall worth having if in the mood for cherries. The thing that sticks out to me here is that it comes with huge black cherry flavor, but without the medicinal cough syrup notes that can often be associated with that.
