Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.

330 ml bottle. Poors a very dark ruby, like red wine, with small pinkish head. Aroma is cherry, grapes, and alcohol. Taste is obviously dominated by cherries, with a slight bitter ending. Sweet beer, with a little sour twist, light body and some carbonation. Alcohol is well hided by the sugar, so you don’t feel it until the end. Very easy to drink, althought it doesn’t taste, smell nor feel like a beer. I suggest to try it.

Bottle - Pours a deep red with a quickly dissipating head of large bubbles. Strong cherry aroma. The taste is a bit sweet and somewhat cloying, but I enjoyed this as a change of pace. I liked this overall.

Bottle. 8.0%. Best before 14.11.15. Pours a clear, deep and dark red/brown with a diminishing tan head. Distinct but mellow cherry aroma, with a malt note in the background. Sweet cherry flavour with a light malt note in the background. Finish is a tart ch/berry bitterness, with dark fruits and a bit of alcohol. Overall good; all about the cherries, but is well-balanced and doesn’t become cloying. Also, the cherries doesn’t have that artificial feel as it often found in cherry beers. 23.12.14.

From the 330 ml. bottle dated 2013/10/09. Attractive mahogany-red pour with a quick lasting off-white head. Aroma exudes cherry and fruit for the most part but it also brings out a lovely toasted malt note. Unlike other beers of this style that smell too fruity. This one still has a "beer" element. The body is medium. The taste is alive with cherry flavors but at the same time I still get that distant Belgian biscuit malt character. 8%? You’d hardly know it. Booze is buried. If all fruit beers could be like this one I would drink many more fruit beers.
