Kasteel Rouge is a blend of Kasteel Donker and cherry liquor. The mix of these two excellent products creates an exceptional soft beer with references to the dark mother beer.

25.4 oz. bottle. To my nose, aroma was almost exclusively of cherries, with a little alcohol thrown in. Looked gorgeous in the glass, a fine red/brown color with a haziness that spoke of the tartness that awaited. Small pinkish head that disappeared almost as quickly as it formed. Taste was somewhat one dimensional (tart cherries of course); however, I did detect the distinct taste of fig. Dry on the palate. I took my time drinking the bottle so as to not overwhelm myself with the cherry taste. Overall, I liked it and would recommend it for splitting with another person after dinner.

Pours a clear amber/red color, topped with a small off-white head. Aroma is nice and fruity, cherry-like, but with some yeasty notes in the back. Taste is what you would expect - sweet and fruity start, followed by some cherry sourness in the finish. A bit stronger, but still managable. Decent.

Dard red beer with no head, fizzy in the glass. Uber black cherry on the nose. Massive black cherry taste, black cherry, black cherry, black cherry!

Poured from a 0.33L bottle bought in Romania into a short glass to drink. The beer a deep, dark ruby color with a lot of initial bubbles and a small foamy off-white head that almost instantly disappeared, with practically no cling or lacing. The aroma featured a strong presence of cherries along with some other fruity and floral tones, and a bit of licorice and some malt. It had a strong cherry and fruity taste with a subtle sweetness, but also had a stronger sour fruit effect with a slight alcohol presence and a bit of grainy taste. The beer had a wet and watery mouthfeel with low to average carbonation and a very dry finish and after taste, which was a bit thin in the end. Interesting beer, different, but enjoyable.

From tap. Copper reddish color with off white head pinkish head. Aroma is sweet fruity, cherry, yeasty spicy, light caramel malty. Sweet and light acidic taste like aroma. Almost medium oily body with average carbonation.

Nee, deze vind ik absoluut niet lekker. Kunstmatige kersensmaak en -geur te dominant aanwezig.

0,33 l bottle from EDEKA Mohr, bottled in May 2014 (one year old). Clear, deep red with a medium large, fluffy, rather quickly diminishing, white head with a brownish touch. Very sweet, fruity aroma dominated by (artificial) cherry juice and accompanied by hints of almond and oak. Sweetish-sourish, fruity taste again with lots of cherry juice but also with some oak, resulting in a sourish, tart and slightly alcoholic finish that balances the sweetness. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Interesting but not totally convincing. Very sweet and rather artificial, but with a nice tart finish making it quite drinkable. Okay.

Bier met kersensmaak. Enorm veel aroma en ruikt lekker zoet maar dat is ook meteen het nadeel. In mijn ogen smaakt hij te zoet en zelfs een beetje zuur.
