750 ml bottle. Bottled 2013/07/10. Pours a very dark reddish brown with moderate head that settles quickly. Aromas of brownies, figs, and dried coffee. Flavors of nuts, burnt coffee, dark raisins, and cocoa powder with a hint of spice.

Awful product. More additives than anything else. Why would a beer need ’Beer flavor’?

Pours a clear very dark ruby/brown with a really decent light tan head. Nice roasted malt and nutty aroma. Taste is sweet roasted malt, dried dark fruit, buttered biscuits and a bit of Chardonnay. Alcohol warmth comes in after the swallow, but is not nearly as assertive as the ABV would suggest. Really great stuff - - and lucky me, I picked up three bottles at a clearance sale for only $2.65 each!

Draft at dive 75 NYC. In between dark and tan looking cot with a boozy flavor to it. Extremely potent with alcohol. Better for a cold night sipper

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/26/2013. Pours fairly crystal clear very dark reddish brown color with a 1 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big caramel, cocoa, toffee, toast, coffee, molasses, clove, pepper, raisin, prune, apple, brown bread, light nuttiness, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great dark/bready malt complexity with light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast ester balance; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, cocoa, toffee, toast, coffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, apple, clove, pepper, brown bread, herbal, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of caramel, cocoa, coffee, toast, toffee, molasses, licorice, clove, herbal, brown bread, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity of dark/bready malt and light-moderate fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a great robust malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a slick, bready, and moderately creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome Belgian strong dark ale! All around great complexity and balance of robust dark/bready malts and liught-moderate fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Dark brown, small to average and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, artificial coffee - some chocolate. Body is medium to full, malty and sugary sweetish flavor, some caramel, artificial coffee - some chocolate. Finish is short to average, malty and sweetish flavor, artificial coffee - light chocolate, light alcohol. Contains: proteolytic enzymes, propylene glycol alginate, chocolate aroma, coffee aroma AND beer aroma (!). Despite how many times I read the back label/ingredients I’m not just sure this one is a beer.

inbirraveritas (1233) - Budapest, HUNGARY - FEB 21, 2014
Bottled, 33 cl. Shows a hazy deep dark brown colour with a finger thick creamy beige head on its top, which diminishes to a thin film. Intensive smell of anise drops and licorice. Aroma is ruled by the same underpainted by some dried fruity notes and peppery alcohol, mouthfeel is slick and somewhat sticky. Dry, warming and peppery finish with distinct licorice again. Interesting, but overall not really my brew...

Flaske 0,33l fra Alko Muonio. Drukket på RV124 1 Jan 14. Mørkebrun.Lavt mokkafarget skum. God søt karamellaroma. Hint av marsipan. Smaken det samme. Uvanlig men god. Tørr ettersmak. Alkoholen kamuflert som marsipan!
