COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kasteel Winter is a unique departure from the standard Christmas ales known for their potpourri of cinnamon and clove. In fact, it stands alone as one of the most decadent and elegant Quadruples of Belgium in its own right. This 11% ABV beer pours a Chestnut brown with an off-white head. The nose is rich, with a warming scent of Coffee, Toffee, and Dried Fruits. The mouthfeel is rich and sweet like that of melted candy. The key ingredients to this delicacy is Belgian Chocolate and Coffee...noteworthy phrases in any brewers handbook. All of these elements come together to provide an after taste reminiscent of a tootsie roll.

[as Kasteel Barista Chocolate Quad]. Deep brown color, with beige head. I expected chocolate, instead there was soon an intense coffee smell. Taste too, but not many other notes. Alcohol well balanced, but not my beer, hard to finish.

Tap at the Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is big coffee, sweet fruits, dark chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth, rich sweet malt, dry roast coffee palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Sold as Kasteel Barista and it certainly lived up to its billing!

Bottle 750ml. corked @ home.

[ As Kasteel Winter ].
Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee, chocolate beans. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate beans, coffee, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft - fizzy, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20141231]

Belgium’s take on imperial stout. Big coffee and dark chocolate bitters. Overall pretty great beer. You feel the heat but in context it’s balanced - has a spirit quality about it. Maybe bordering on harsh palate-wise but I actually find it kind of interesting. Worth spending some more quality time with this one.

Bottle 0.75l from Pivoljub (Ljubljana). Hazy dark mahogany liquid with tan average head. Cappuccino cake. Sweet and full. Dessert. A bit sour. Geat.

0,33 L bottle; aroma of roasted malt, heavily coffee and definitely dark chocolate with hints of spices. Dark brown relatively clear beer with a light brown medium size head. Light sweet flavor with an acidic, light bitter and long lasting flavor. Full mouthtaste with lively carbonation. Strong coffee flavor hides the high alcohol percentage very well.

Found back quite some tasting notes, among them, this one. APPEARANCE: dark brown beer, nice stable beige head. NOSE: coffee, toffee, caramel, some mocha. TASTE: coffee, toffee, caramel, some mocha, quite decent! Like the coffee in this

Butelka 33cl. Barista Chocolate Quad. OCZY : piwo jest mętne o kolorze brązowym. Piana jest średniej wielkości, szara i średnio trwała. NOS : w zapachy dominuje czekolada i bakalie.

Quel plaisir !!
