Kasteel Winter is a unique departure from the standard Christmas ales known for their potpourri of cinnamon and clove. In fact, it stands alone as one of the most decadent and elegant Quadruples of Belgium in its own right. This 11% ABV beer pours a Chestnut brown with an off-white head. The nose is rich, with a warming scent of Coffee, Toffee, and Dried Fruits. The mouthfeel is rich and sweet like that of melted candy. The key ingredients to this delicacy is Belgian Chocolate and Coffee...noteworthy phrases in any brewers handbook. All of these elements come together to provide an after taste reminiscent of a tootsie roll.

Brilliant aroma of high end coffee and expensive chocolate. One of the best aromas in recent memory. Appearance is also an easy 5. Shiny black color with a small ring of off white foam. The taste is slightly bitter chocolate with good coffee roast in the background. Both of these meld for a memorable aftertaste. Crazy drinkable for 11%. The palate is a bit thin but that just adds to the drink ability. Raise the rating on this bad boy. It's a great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is a little sweet, bit of chocolate? Clear brown color with a beige head that fades quickly. Little lacing. Nice chocolate flavor, bit of the Belgian flavors. Alcohol evident in aftertaste. Overall a pretty nice beer. Almost seems like flavors could be blended a little better?

Flaska från Beergium. Drucken som Kasteel Barista Chocolate Quad. Kaffebrun i färgen med högt beiget skum. Matt doft av mocca, gammaldags kola, mjölkchoklad, torkade plommon, lite apelsinskal. Stor kropp. Mocca, cafe latte, iskaffe, lite frappe. Sväller smakmässigt och går över i stor beska och spritig alkohol. Lite kolalikör, typ Baylis. Lite bittra toner som stör.

Deep brown body. Fizzy brown head, immediately disappearing. Strong nose of alcohol and molasses. Heavily sweet and alcoholic beer. Very unpleasant. Totally out of balance.

Pours a rich brown color with a boozy chocolate aroma. Taste is dried fruit with notes of toffee and coffee. The alcohol content of this beer is truly evident with each drink, maybe too much. A nice warming beer.

Bottle (as Barista Chocolate Quad) from Beer in a Bottle, Beverley. Deep ruby red, non existent head and persistent condition. Sweet fruity nose with a slightly herbal edge, more like a cola or dandelion and burdock than beer, some background chocolate powder notes and a definite spirity alcohol kick. In the mouth it is fizzy, sweet and warming with a delicate chocolate flavour and a hint of roasted coffee. Despite the fizz in the mouth it remains quite flat and soft to the palate. Finish is sweet and warming with lingering chocolate and a slight spicy bitterness but seems a little unbalanced and contrived.
