Kasteel Winter is a unique departure from the standard Christmas ales known for their potpourri of cinnamon and clove. In fact, it stands alone as one of the most decadent and elegant Quadruples of Belgium in its own right. This 11% ABV beer pours a Chestnut brown with an off-white head. The nose is rich, with a warming scent of Coffee, Toffee, and Dried Fruits. The mouthfeel is rich and sweet like that of melted candy. The key ingredients to this delicacy is Belgian Chocolate and Coffee...noteworthy phrases in any brewers handbook. All of these elements come together to provide an after taste reminiscent of a tootsie roll.

Dark brown with beige head. Chocolate, coffee, apricots, bananas, and spice in the aroma. Flavor is malty and sweet with some chocolate and dried fruits. This is a bit different here. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall good.

Toll!

11.2 ounce bottle. Poured out a beautiful dark auburn with a khaki head. Aroma was sweet toffee and coffee. Taste was dark chocolate and smokey caramel. Palate was a little weak, but all in all, pretty enjoyable.

Negra, escasa espuma, nada duradera. Copazo. Grande en el postre.

Bottle at Csakajosör. Pours a dark brown redish colour with a tiny whitish head. Aroma of chocolate, a bit of coffee and some earthy notes. Taste is sweet, maybe a bit too much sweetness. There is something behind, but you cant really feel it because of all the sweetness that is coming on to you soo strong. Not my favourite style, but it could be a decent dessert beer. Maybe. Im still not sure.

Tallahassee, Fl - Market Square Liquors - 750 cage-corked bottle - labeled as Barista Chocolate Quad. Dark brown leading to sable black pour, thin, but persistent off-white head, very light lacing. Aroma has some nice chocolate accents, a touch of sweet date frutiiness. Solid, full-bodied flavor nice bittersweet baker’s chocolate accents, some brown sugar sweetness, a touch of licorice, light espresso notes. Mouthfeel has a decent spritz to it, but the thickness does not match the flavor. Overall though, very nice.

Poured from the tap into a tulip glass. The appearance is a clear dark brown with a large white head. The aroma is chocolate and coffee and it smells wonderful. The taste is coffee and chocolate with malt. An outstanding beer.

33cl bottle. I love chocolate quads! This beer feels more like a dubbel than a quad, with an addition of sweet milk chocolate and a generous amount of coffee. Awesome stuff.

Caramel, light smoke and some prune. Tobacco. Pours dark brown with decent mocha head. Light sweet finish. Creamy consistency. Nice stuff. Bottle from perfect pour.
