Kasteel Winter is a unique departure from the standard Christmas ales known for their potpourri of cinnamon and clove. In fact, it stands alone as one of the most decadent and elegant Quadruples of Belgium in its own right. This 11% ABV beer pours a Chestnut brown with an off-white head. The nose is rich, with a warming scent of Coffee, Toffee, and Dried Fruits. The mouthfeel is rich and sweet like that of melted candy. The key ingredients to this delicacy is Belgian Chocolate and Coffee...noteworthy phrases in any brewers handbook. All of these elements come together to provide an after taste reminiscent of a tootsie roll.

Tasted as Kasteel Barista Chocolate Quad. Coffee notes in nose. Deep brown with fading off white head. Deep malt and coffee flavors with the slightest note of raspberry in the finish, fairly sweet. Medium full bodied. Great dessert beer.

Sample at Crafted & Cured (as "Barista Chocolate Quad"). The beer pours a clear dark brown color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and malt. Full-bodied and drinkable with flavors of roast coffee, chocolate malt and earthy yeast. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Flesje "BARISTA CHOCOLADTE QUAD" gedeeld. Helder bier met diep donkerbruine kleur. Bij het inschenken ruikt het alsof je een pak koffie open maakt, ook komt er een drop geur naar boven. De smaak is daarentegen erg chocolade-achtig. De nasmaak trekt iets bitter weg.

Bottle. Dark brown pour. Sweet aroma of malt, milk chocolate and coffee. Nice soft taste of milk chocolate, latte coffee, creamy malt, ripe fruit and a really soft mouthfeel. I really like this.

Bottled. A brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and prunes, leading to a dry roasted finish.
