Kasteel Winter is a unique departure from the standard Christmas ales known for their potpourri of cinnamon and clove. In fact, it stands alone as one of the most decadent and elegant Quadruples of Belgium in its own right. This 11% ABV beer pours a Chestnut brown with an off-white head. The nose is rich, with a warming scent of Coffee, Toffee, and Dried Fruits. The mouthfeel is rich and sweet like that of melted candy. The key ingredients to this delicacy is Belgian Chocolate and Coffee...noteworthy phrases in any brewers handbook. All of these elements come together to provide an after taste reminiscent of a tootsie roll.

Bottle, 330 ml from Magic Beer Room, Zagreb. Pours brown with beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate, lots almonds and nuts, some coffee, spices. Bit like a cake and on verge of being artificial. Full bodied and quite complex. Liked it, a good combination.

Quite a treat. Wouldnt describe as best quality Belgian strong, but it conquers my heart and taste buds with its diversity. Quite close to Mikkellers desert breakfast coffee qualities, thx to my colleague - tiramisu, some interesting well implemented spices, dried fruits, light yeasty, caramel, dark choco. Moderate sweetness with light bitterness. Highly enjoyable, well balanced, but would like even more full bodied

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2015 Well this one is different, scaling of the classic charts. Aroma is is typical Italian coffee and vanilla tiramisu mix. Taste is tobacco water with Italian coffee.

Barista Chocolate - a lovely smell of chocolate coffee and a beautiful dark brown/red colour which fits its name. The taste gets ruined after a short and harsh fizz on the tongue which makes your tongue feel like you’ve eaten to much pineapple... After that experience you get a slight aftertaste of a coffee / caramel liquor. Pity

As "Barista Chocolate Quad". Aroma of malt, caramel, mocha, coffee, milk chocolate, hopjesvla, sweet dried fruits, candy, some spices. Flavour is sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Too sweet for my taste, but I enjoyed the aroma. Not bad for a Kasteel beer.

Keg at Beergeek. Pours deep Brownish Amber with a cream coloured head. Theres an artificial powdery chocolate vibe which becomes quite a chore. Boozy, toffee and coffee. A bit disorganised.

Rood bruin bier met een goede witte schuim kraag. Ruikt chemisch chocolade, drop en kruidig. Smaakt ook zo.
