2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle, 33cl. Opaque dark brown. Intense aromas of sweet coffee, alcohol, a bit nauseating to be honest. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Intense sweet and spicy (cinnamon) character with moderate bitterness into a heavy bitter and alcohol finish. Quite nice, but I despised the sweet coffee flavors and find them in very poor taste for this kind of beer.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, 330ml. A deep dark beer with a small brown head. Aroma is of chocolate, mocha, coffee milk and brown sugar. Taste is sweet and reminds me of coffee milk with mocha. I guess that is the reason it was called barista chocolate quad. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a strong cinnamon finish. Not terrible, but I expect more from a Belgian beer and not just something that reminds me of Starbuck’s beverages.

Très belle bière sombre. Arôme café et chocolat extrêmement prononcé. Au goût on est sur le café froid. Très sucrée. Au final cette bière est assez lourde et trop sucrée. Assez ecoeurante. Une bière d’hiver.

Warming and unsubtle. Dark fruits. Plums prunes. Chocolate is thin and all over the place alcohol burn on finish. Not good. Boozy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
gift from my younger brother - Thanks! - Aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. Opaque black/brown color, bubbly ivory head cover, globs and blobs of lace. Taste is toasted malt that moves through a carbonated swallow to mild hops. As it moves to the finish, all elements change to a (as Kasteel says) tootsie roll. Surprisingly good, as the sweet chocolate is only there at the end - the rest is traditional toasted malt Belgian Strong. Very good.

I was very disappointed by this beer. I expected more. It was too sweet for me and tasted like liquid " Haagse Hopjes ", a dutch sweet. I did not like the chocolate element, missed the balancel tue hop, the typical bitters.
