COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kasteel Winter is a unique departure from the standard Christmas ales known for their potpourri of cinnamon and clove. In fact, it stands alone as one of the most decadent and elegant Quadruples of Belgium in its own right. This 11% ABV beer pours a Chestnut brown with an off-white head. The nose is rich, with a warming scent of Coffee, Toffee, and Dried Fruits. The mouthfeel is rich and sweet like that of melted candy. The key ingredients to this delicacy is Belgian Chocolate and Coffee...noteworthy phrases in any brewers handbook. All of these elements come together to provide an after taste reminiscent of a tootsie roll.

If you are looking to drink liquid chocolate with alchohol, then this is it. To me it has not to do much with beer. One of those beers wich is good so once in a while. Interresting. I can see people loving this stuff, and others hating it. Worth trying.

3oz pour at Max’s Belgian Fest 2016 pours a murky brown with some tight, white head. Nose has chocolate, some molasses, a little yeast, some brown sugar, but mostly chocolate syrup. Flavor follows, like drinking a box of chocolates, some nougat and molasses, caramel, chocolate syrup. Finishes mostly dry.

As Barista Chocolate Quad, bottle. Flat dark without foam. Mild bread and yeasty aroma. There’s combination of rye and chocolate in taste. Strong! Something dusty, almost moldy flavor is a little unsettling. Not my cup of rye.

Shared bottle labelled Barista Chocolate Quad at Mi2 at Cardinal 15.02.15. Almost ebony. Small, pale brown head. Aroma of freshly roasted coffee. Fine taste of fresh coffee, dak chocolate and real vanilla. Fine aftertaste of dark brittle, roasted barley and vanilla.

Dark brown. Spicy, warm, welcoming nose. Like a dark brandy chocolates. Slight peppery, roasted, with espresso. Full smooth body. Sweet, without being cloying. Really flavourful, tasty. Like eating boozy xmas chocolates.
