Bottled (from Alko Prisma, Vaasa). Very deep coppery colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Not much else. And the same goes for the flavour. A surprisingly big coffee beer for being Belgian, but over this I would take the brune/bruin any day.

25.11.13 Bottle 330ml Alko. Deep amber color, steady beige head. Deep artifical chocolate candy aroma. Medium-bodied. Front has some alcohol. Then artifical chocolate and coffee liquer flavor. Overly sweet and artifical. Yaiks.

Corked bottle. Dark brown color. Hints of roast, caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Malt, cacao, caramel and hopjesvla in the sweet, almost overly sweet flavor. Sticky and alcoholic.

330ml bottle (Alko, Helsinki) - gift from mjs - thanks! Cheap instant coffee aroma, some chocolate too. Nice dark brown, persistent tan head. Nasty chemical flavourings. Some sourness accompanies the sweetness, which is quite high. Coffee is stale. On swallowing, I get a wave of salivation which I know is an instinctive vomit precursor. Baaaaaaad. However, this does cover the alcohol very well. Bumping overall from 6 to 7 because of that.

Short: A coffee quadrupel that comes across as a mixed Kahlua cocktail

Origin: Tap at Encinitas Ale House Size: 4oz taster Glass: Mini flute Price: $2 Date: 1/18/14
Long: Pours a clear, deep red. Medium beige foam. Nose is almost Irish coffee, grenadine, sweet mixed cocktail. Taste is quite the oddity- sugary mixed cocktail with Kahlua and grenadine. Sweet, stickier, coffee all around. Semi tart cherry in the back. Really strange, not sure what to think.
Flaws: Overly sweet, sugary
Skill Level: Daring

Sampled from bottle @ Cafe Vingerhoeds, Oirschot. Nice deep dark brown color with a deep dark red glow coming through, small to medium sized beige head. Aroma unfortunately has a bit of ’hopjesvla’ and herbs or spices I absolutely dislike. Tastes like that as well, but fortunately not as much as the aroma suggested. Also get vanilla and heavy mocha. All in all quite heavy. A slow drinker. Noy my kind of beer unfortunately.

330ml bottle, thanks to Finn. Deep mahogany coloured body. Moderate, tan-coloured head. Not much lace. Kahlua coffee liqueur aroma and even stronger notes of kahlua in the taste profile. Added by candied fruits. Integrated alcohol. Not too sweet. Different and actually quite good (Tromsø 07.02.2014).

Sampled draught as part of a flight at Palm Harbor House of Beers, on January 21, 2014.
Clear dark red to black color, off-white head. Sweet, toffee, some coffee taste. Coffee, sweet, sugary, toffee aftertaste. Medium mouhtfeel, low bitterness. Sweet, coffee scent.

330 ml bottle. BB 11/096/2018. (Alko) Tampere, Finland.
Black colour with a small tan head. Black coffee in the aroma. Maybe there’s some sweetness, spices and malt in the background too. The flavour is sweetness, spices, coffee and malt. Quite bad combination to be honest. Blah... the coffee is too overwhelming.

On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a clear dark ruby tinged amber brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of coffee and plum infused chocolate. Gorgeous. Medium bodied, warm and spicy. Lots of sticky malt. Spicy cola notes and cocoa. Very interesting. Warm and tasty.
