2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Kasteel Blond. I was always curious for the Kasteel series but I never tried one. So tonight was the night and I tried the Blond version. Aroma his smalll hints of lemon and fresh baked bread. The flavour was really greasy. I donít think I ever drank a beer more greasy than this one. It was like drinking molten butter. This overcomes the flavours wich are quite interesting. It taste a bit like a regular pilsner. A bit of hop bitterness, but overall an easy to drink beer, but really treatorous. (spelled correctly??) I will not try this beer again soon, but I am still curious for the rest that Kasteel has to offer."

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at The Kulminator, Antwerp, Belgie, 19.03.11 I think it was maybe 8-10 yrs old Pours very hazy amber with a medium white head. There is candy bananas on the nose and in the mouth, age has clearly softened this beer, some digestive biscuit, slight zippy zestiness persists, really quite decent despite the ageing. I guess they felt they had to stop a gap in their range of beers to make this one. I expected too much from it considering the awesomeness of their tripel and dark beers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 2003. Cloudy light orange body, with a nice holding and sticky head.
Light sour, mostly sweet, honey, citrus, spiced a bit earthy. Pretty good, special for the age, but a bit watery.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
2003 Bottle. Large creamy head that lasts. Dark blond with good carbonation. Slightly sour aroma. The taste is quite smooth due to the soft cabonation. Aftertaste is somewhat dusty with flavours of calvados and cognac.
