2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
33cl Bottle poured into the correct (lovely) glass on a sun terrace of a bar in Valkenburg, Holland, 23 Oct 2012. The bottle had a BBD of Oct 2013.
As the name might suggest to you, the beer is golden blonde in colour, on top sat a full white crown of bubbles. It’s glass helps to make it look special in my eyes.
The nose is a bit sweeter and grainer than I like: seemed wheaty and sugary even before the first sip and I wasn’t looking forward to trying it.
Luckily it wasn’t as sickly and weak as the aroma first indicated: still had a sweet front, but it calmed down mid-sip and got even a little hop bitter and dry towards the end of each mouth full.
Can’t say it was great, but it was OK I suppose: not very well balanced, almost dis-jointed in that the flavours didn’t blend or mix. I’ll not be having another by choice.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The little sister of Kasteelbier Tripel, tasted from bottle. Very bright, ’pils’-like golden colour, snow white head. Fruity and sweetish, bit honeyish, otherwise rather one-dimensional. Not impressed.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl bottle at home. Clear golden with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with some bitter tones. Citrus, peach, hay, flowers and herbs. Somehow too sweet for my taste.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasting blind from a 33cl bottle.
In the aroma alcohol, metal, citrus, hop. You can say it’s an old bottle.
The clear yellow beer has a small white head.
Some sweet and bitter but also a bit sour.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale golden/ yellow color slightly hazy with a nice creamy medium white head. Aroma is mineral, with a slight touch of banana and flowery hops. Falvor is lemony yeasty phenols with some honey at the end and flowery hops, genlte bitter aftertaste. Medium to light palate, very carbonantated a lit watery though. Nice, quaffable belgian golden ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Light fruit and bread aromas, touch of almonds. Taste has a solid Belgian yeast vibe, more bread, light honey sweetness. Not bad.
