0,33L bottle, 2012 vintage. Aroma: intense dark fruits, malt, alcohol. Pours dark brown with small head. The head disappears quickly. Flavor: sweetness, dark fruits, raisins, caramel, spices, strong alcohol. Finish is slightly bitter and tart with noticeable alcohol burn. Overall: alcohol is dominating a little bit too much for me to really enjoy it, but considering the ABV it goes down surprisingly well.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2015 Vintage 2010. Bottle 75cl from April and taste in april 2015. Five years old Belgian Ale. Vintage 2011. Bottle 75cl. Kolejne mocne i ciezkie piwo dzisiaj. Wspanialy aromat domowej nalewki, sliwki w rumie, Rodzynki. Mala piana, ale kolor czarno brazowy z refleksami czerwonymi. Tak mocny aromat wogole niewyczuwalny. Tresciwe lekko slodkie ale finisz wytrawny i to zdecydowanie, zblizony do wina polwytrawnego. Suszone owoce jakby wspolgraly z porto lub rumem. Elegandzka rocznicowa butelka w szampanowym stylu, firmowy i wypalany naturalny korek. Polecam odkryc starzona wersje.

Bottle, 2012 vintage. Pours a deep red color with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty and Belgian. Taste is of malt, fruits - grapes, berries, raisins, nuts, caramel and earthiness‎. The aftertaste s a bit sour and stays a while, but not in a bad way. Carbonation is above medium abd body is about what you can expect from an 11% Belgian ale. Pretty damn good, but the sourness detracts a bit from the overall.

2010, almost 4 years, pours cloudy brown with beige head. Nice aroma of red grape juice with some sweetness and grainy Belgianness. The flavor starts smooth with a grape dark berry fruit. The Belgian yeast is rich but with the sweet brown grains it makes quite a smooth beer. The carbonation is moderate for a Belgian, it has held up well to aging but probably not too much longer. Very good and not very warming for 11%, nice brew.

Thanks to Hopswagger for this little gem! 11.2oz Belgian style bottle. 2010 Vintage A - A hard pour reveals a ruddy dark brown colored body with little to no head. A jumbo bubbled collar forms with small whisps of islands in the middle. S - Soured red figs, tart and sugary, cold sticky dates, Belgian candy syrup, brown sugar, sugary caramel, dirty cardboard sweetness. A tartness keeps coming up and envelops the fruity aroma mid drink, but the deep malt base overtakes everything in the end. T - Spicy caramel malts, dark bread fresh out of the oven, brown sugar, molasses, not as much fruit as the nose describes, somewhat fruity though, figs are the dominate fruit along side raisins, and dates. Oxidation is present in the form of dry caramel. There’s grape and raisin flavor that melds together very well. Old and deep sugary malts. Strong spicy components really kick in middle to end, creating a dry finish to to a sugary malted base. M - Thick and viscous feel, (like a thickened prune juice), low carbonation with a small and tight stingy feel on the tongue. Very dense and caramelized flavors with a thick and sugary body. This drinks very elegant. The finish really shines due to the swift and spicy dryness. I haven’t had this fresh but this is drinking excellent for the year. Lots of spicy malt laced with sugary fruit. I picture myself drinking this in a tux with a cuban cigar after dinner. Really glad I cracked this. I just wish I had another one to hold onto for a few more years. Serving type: bottle 08-10-2013

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Malty aroma with caramel and dark dried fruits with hints of alcohol and spices. Sweet, malty and fruity with warming alcohol and a lightly spicy and bitter finish. Decent, but to much on the sweet side for my taste.

750 mL bottle dated 2010-05-27. Aroma is full of dark caramel and toffee with some chocolate notes. Moderate raisin, plum and prune. Light roast and moderate burnt sugar notes. Pours a cloudy brown with a small, thin, tan head that quickly recedes to the edges where it lingers. No lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately to very sweet with dark caramel, toffee and lighter roast and chocolate notes. Some burnt sugar notes. Lots of raisin and plum with lighter prune and fig notes. Lots of burnt sugar in the flavor as well. Moderate bitterness helps add a hint of a drying finish. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but faintly present astringency with medium alcohol warmth. Overall a pretty decent Belgian Strong Dark. Lots of malt character with quite a bit of esters to balance it all. Lots of sweetness but it hides the alcohol really well. Tough to drink a whole bottle by one’s self.
