COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An unequalled beer, at the top of the Kasteel spectrum. The aroma and flavour of Cuvée are those of a Kasteel Donker, that aged 10 years in the cellars of the castle, noble and strong.

marked 2011, pours clear dark brown with tan fizzy foam. Aroma of bubblegum, candied date, prune, plum. Lighter in body than anticipated, and also lighter in carbonation. Flavor is sweet dark fruit, with warm oak notes. Pretty nice.

(750ml bottle) Courtesy of Donald from Tree Brewing. Deep brown body and a thin, white dissipating head. Good burnt brown sugar and flowers. Some good bubble gum and vanilla front. Likable. 7/4/8/4/15

Sample at the Secret Stash Bash. Dark brown color, with a medium, tan head. Caramel and oak aroma, with some cherries and dark fruits. Very sweet flavor, and a little tart. Medium body, silky feel, and a little sticky. Overall, this is a nice, complex ale, but lacks complexity.

750, corked, baled, foiled, and collared. 2010, opened in 2013. Very attractive presentation. Pours a murky, grainy dark brown with a dense and creamy but very short-lived light tan head. Big sweet graham cracker, molasses, and light prune nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Graham crackers, prunes, and molasses on the mid palate. Long sweetish finish.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2013 A dark beer with attitude. I confess I didn’t expected much looking at the bottle. But it poured a light brown, quite softly with a lively carbonation but not much head. I can detect some notes of caramel, toast and roasty. Although with a abv of 11% the alcohol is almost not perceived.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. 2010 vintage. Pours a murky brown with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, raisins and bread dough. Sweet toffee combined with tart cherries in the flavor. Crisp, tart finish.

2012 Vintage - Very dark brown colour. Aroma has alcohol soaked dried fruits and brown sugar. The alcohol is just present in the taste. Dried fruits and some herbal notes in the background. Body is a bit thin.

A great beer that does indeed taste like aged Donker. Smooth and delicious, only thing lacking is the aroma. Maybe I can’t smell because I started smoking cigarettes again, but I’ve been getting metallic smells from lots of beers that taste amazing. This is one of those. Sugar and dark fruit upon tasting; blackberry and grape with a spicy, but easy finish. Thick slightly oily mouth-feel. Delicious, would definitely try it again.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Very dark brown ruby colour lasting thin tan head. Yep plenty of alcohol. Its got some rich plum fruit but the burning alcohol is just too much. Tasty though. Perhaps not best beer to have as an aperatif.

33cl. Bottle. Poors dark ruby red with tan head. Aroma spicy, fruits, fresh, cherry, sweet. Taste sweet, some bitters. Mouth-feel thin. More balanced compared to donker.
