An unequalled beer, at the top of the Kasteel spectrum. The aroma and flavour of Cuvée are those of a Kasteel Donker, that aged 10 years in the cellars of the castle, noble and strong.

Pours in reddish-brown with a firm of white head and a really nice nose of bitter almonds. Even some marcipan and dried fruit. Taste is more fruity with cherry notes and red berries. Palate regains the almonds from the nose and adds some sourness. Some heat as well but still lingering style.

Pours a two finger cream head that fades slowly leaving no lace. Dark brown color, no highlights. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Dark fruit nose, and flavor is dark fruit and caramel. Higher ABV is hidden. $6.99 for a 330ml bottle at Bert’s Better Beers Hooksett, NH.

Bottle - pours reddish brown with a small head. Aroma is sweet dried fruit, sugar and a bit of malt. Taste is burnt sugar up front then a dryer fruity finish. Moderate palate. Hides the 11% well!

Denne belgiske ale har et uklart mørkt udseende med et svagt hvidt skum. Øllen har en sød aroma og smager af sød karamel med en frugtig eftersmag. Bitter afrunding. Medium karbonering.

Aroma of malt, fruits and berries. Brown hazy appearance almost without foam. Medium-high sweetness and light-medium bitterness. Taste of fruits as well. Average lively carbonation, full body, a bit dry finish. Very tasteful!

Cuvée Du Chateau has a thin, big-bubbled, cream-colored head, a standard, shoe-leather brown appearance, with lots of beige yeast chunks, and a few lacing splotches left on the glass. The aroma is of raisin, spiced bread, prunes, walnuts, and possibly brownies. Tastes is of spiced brown bread, a touch of lemon, some very low-level, balancing hop bitterness, caramel, and even white rice (which, this beer does not contain, to my knowledge). Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin, and there is a bit of an unpleasant chalky under-taste. Cuvée Du Chateau finishes just a bit on the drying side. Booze predominates, here. RJT

Sweet dark fruit and grape aroma. Deep brown color. No head at all. Bitter malt and dark fruit taste. Smooth malt feel. Like a port wine. Strong bodied but has a smooth finish. Use this one to convert wine drinkers to beer.
